Description
Visanne Tablet contains dienogest, a hormone similar to the natural progesterone produced in the body. It is prescribed to treat endometriosis, a condition in which tissue similar to the lining of the uterus grows outside the uterus. This can cause long-lasting pelvic pain, pain during periods, pain during intercourse, and discomfort while passing urine or stools. Visanne helps reduce these symptoms and improve daily comfort.
This medicine works by slowing down the growth of endometriosis tissue and reducing inflammation. By lowering the activity of this tissue outside the uterus, it helps ease pain and discomfort over time. Visanne is not a contraceptive pill, so additional birth control methods may be needed if pregnancy prevention is required. Menstrual changes such as irregular bleeding or spotting may occur during treatment.
Visanne Tablet should be taken exactly as advised by your doctor, preferably at the same time each day. It can be taken with or without food. - For the treatment of endometriosis.
Contraindications
If you are allergic to dienogest, estradiol or any other components of this medicine.
If you have or ever had the problem of blood clots in blood vessels of your legs (deep vein thrombosis), lungs (pulmonary embolism), brain or heart (stroke).
If you suffer from a blood clotting disorder.
If you ever had a heart attack or severe chest pain (angina, transient ischaemic attack).
If you have severe diabetes with damage in blood vessels.
If you have very high blood pressure.
If your liver function is not normal due to present or past disease of the liver.
If you were diagnosed with cancer or suspecting cancer involving breasts or genital organs.
If you experience unexplained bleeding from the birth canal (vagina). ...

How Does It Work?
In the body of a female, every month a new layer of tissue is formed within the uterus which is shredded during the menstrual cycle if the female does not conceive. However, in certain instances this layer of tissue forms outside the uterus and can cause severe abdominal pain and discomfort to the female. This condition is known as Endometriosis.
