Medical Description
Visanne Tablet contains dienogest, a hormone similar to the natural progesterone produced in the body. It is prescribed to treat endometriosis, a condition in which tissue similar to the lining of the uterus grows outside the uterus. This can cause long-lasting pelvic pain, pain during periods, pain during intercourse, and discomfort while passing urine or stools. Visanne helps reduce these symptoms and improve daily comfort.
This medicine works by slowing down the growth of endometriosis tissue and reducing inflammation. By lowering the activity of this tissue outside the uterus, it helps ease pain and discomfort over time. Visanne is not a contraceptive pill, so additional birth control methods may be needed if pregnancy prevention is required. Menstrual changes such as irregular bleeding or spotting may occur during treatment.
Visanne Tablet should be taken exactly as advised by your doctor, preferably at the same time each day. It can be taken with or without food. Do not stop or change the dose on your own, as this may affect treatment results. Regular follow-up with your doctor is important to monitor symptom improvement and side effects.
This medicine should not be used during pregnancy or while breastfeeding. Some women may experience side effects such as headache, mood changes, weight gain, acne, or irregular periods. Inform your doctor if you have a history of blood clots, liver problems, diabetes, or mood disorders before starting treatment. If you experience severe pain, heavy bleeding, or any unusual symptoms, contact your doctor promptly for medical advice.
