Medical Description
Ultravist infusion is a contrast medicine used during selected X-ray and computed tomography scans to make blood vessels, organs and other internal structures easier to see. It contains iopromide, an iodine-containing contrast agent that absorbs X-rays more strongly than nearby tissues. The contrast outlines structures on the images so the healthcare team can assess them more clearly. Ultravist infusion is administered by a doctor or nurse in a hospital or clinic before or during the planned imaging procedure.
