Uses of Tropifrin Eye Drops 3ml

  • For pre-operative dilation of pupil (mydriasis).
  • For diagnostic purposes when treatment with either tropicamide or phenylephrine is not sufficient.

Contraindications of Tropifrin Eye Drops 3ml

  • If you are allergic to tropicamide, phenylephrine or any other ingredient of Tropifrin Eye Drop.
  • If you have glaucoma or eye condition such as changes in iris of the eye.
  • Tropifrin should not be used for children below 12 years of age.

Mode of Action of Tropifrin Eye Drops 3ml

How Does It Work?

  • Tropicamide acts by relaxing the sphincter muscles of the eye, thus dilating the pupil.
  • Phenylephrine acts by constricting the blood vessels and relaxing the eye muscles, thereby dilating the pupil.

Directions for Use of Tropifrin Eye Drops 3ml

  • Use this medicine as instructed by your doctor.
  • Follow directions carefully & do not miss doses.
  • Wash your hands thoroughly before and after applying.
  • Close your eyes for 2-3 minutes and do not blink or squeeze.
  • Avoid touching your eyes with the dropper and it must be kept clean.
  • Wipe any excess liquid from your face with a tissue.
  • Use the exact number of drops recommended.

Storage and disposal of Tropifrin Eye Drops 3ml

  • Store it at a temperature not exceeding 15°C - 25°C. Protect it from freezing.
  • Keep it out of the reach of children and pets.
  • Discard the solution if it changes colour, turns cloudy or if it contains particles.

Dosage of Tropifrin Eye Drops 3ml

Overdose

  • As Tropifrin Eye Drop is meant for external application, cases of overdose are unlikely. However, upon accidental ingestion, contact your doctor immediately or visit the nearest hospital.
  • If you have applied extra quantities of it, wipe out the excess of the medicine with tissue or cotton.
