• As per CDSCO, Trazonil tablets are primarily used to manage the following conditions:
• Treat all types of depression.

• Do not take Trazonil tablets or take with caution:
• If you have any allergic reactions to any component of this tablet.
• If you are already using other antidepressants, it can cause severe adverse effects.
• If you have a certain eye condition known as angle-closure glaucoma. It is associated with an increase in fluid pressure inside the eye. Trazonil worsens the condition.
• If you have self-harming or suicidal thoughts.
• If you have uncontrolled hypertension.
• If you have serious heart illnesses like a recent heart attack, heart rhythm problem, etc.
• If you have severe renal or liver impairment.

• Side effects of Trazonil tablets include:
• Headache
• Nausea
• Vomiting
• Diarrhoea
• Constipation
• Changes in appetite or weight
• Weakness or tiredness
• Dizziness or lightheadedness
• Decreased ability to concentrate or remember things
• Muscle pain
• Dry mouth
• Changes in sexual desire or ability

Other General Warnings

• You are over 65 years; slow metabolism in older persons increases the risk of side effects of Trazonil tablets.
• You take herbal or Ayurvedic products or supplements; some of these can cause adverse effects when combined with Trazonil tablets.
• You experience mood changes or thoughts of self-harming. Seek medical help immediately.
• You have planned for a surgery or a dental procedure.
• You have high blood pressure.
• You have conditions like sickle cell anaemia (a disorder of red blood cells), leukaemia (cancer of white blood cells), multiple myeloma (cancer of plasma cells), Peyronie’s disease (a condition that affects the shape of the penis such as its angle), etc.
• You have a heart, liver or kidney disease.

• Take Trazonil tablet exactly in the prescribed dose and the duration.
• Do not increase this medicine's dosage, even if you cannot notice its effects.
• Take the whole tablet with a glass of water.
• Do not break or chew the tablet.
• Do not use Trazonil medicine if its packaging is broken or damaged.
• Do not suddenly stop taking Trazonil tablets as it can lead to adverse reactions.
• Do not take Trazonil tablets with other medicines without informing your doctor.

Interactions with other medicines

• Trazonil tablets should not be taken along with other antidepressant medications like linezolid, diazepam, fluoxetine, etc., as they can cause severe reactions.
• Trazonil tablets should not be taken along with high doses of opioid painkillers, such as tramadol, as they can cause extreme drowsiness and other side effects.
• Trazonil tablets should not be combined with blood thinners like aspirin, warfarin, etc. It can increase the risk of abnormal bleeding.
• Inform your doctor if you are using certain antibiotics, HIV medicines, etc., before starting your Trazonil regime.
• Trazonil tablets can interact with many other medicines. Inform your doctor of all current treatments and medication before taking Trazonil tablets.
