Medical Description

Trazonil tablet is a prescription medicine used to treat all types of depression. It has a single active ingredient, Trazodone. It is an antidepressant medication. The mode of action of Trazonil tablets is by modulating the levels of specific chemical messengers to regulate mood and improve behaviour. The primary use of Trazonil tablets is to manage the symptoms of every type of depression, such as stress, fear, irritability, loss of interest, etc., even in those who did not respond to other medications. When used in moderate amounts, this medicine does not cause any addiction. However, there may be physical dependency (symptoms occur when the medicine is not taken) in persons using Trazonil tablets for a long time. Follow your doctor’s advice for using Trazonil tablets. Do not suddenly stop using this medicine; this can cause withdrawal symptoms like irritation, sweating, low heart rate, vomiting, etc. Sleeplessness, constipation, low sex desire, etc., are some of the side effects of Trazonil tablets. These tablets are to be used with caution as they tend to cause changes in mood and suicidal thoughts.

Contraindications

  • Do not take Trazonil tablets or take with caution:
  • If you have any allergic reactions to any component of this tablet.
  • If you are already using other antidepressants, it can cause severe adverse effects.
  • If you have a certain eye condition known as angle-closure glaucoma. It is associated with an increase in fluid pressure inside the eye. Trazonil worsens the condition.
  • If you have self-harming or suicidal thoughts.
  • If you have uncontrolled hypertension.
  • If you have serious heart illnesses like a recent heart attack, heart rhythm problem, etc.
  • If you have severe renal or liver impairment.

Directions for Use

  • Take Trazonil tablet exactly in the prescribed dose and the duration.
  • Do not increase this medicine's dosage, even if you cannot notice its effects.
  • Take the whole tablet with a glass of water.
  • Do not break or chew the tablet.
  • Do not use Trazonil medicine if its packaging is broken or damaged.
  • Do not suddenly stop taking Trazonil tablets as it can lead to adverse reactions.
  • Do not take Trazonil tablets with other medicines without informing your doctor.

Storage and disposal

Store Trazonil tablets in a dry place. Protect the medicine from wet surfaces, direct sunlight, and humid conditions. Keep Trazonil tablets out of the reach of pets and children.
