Trazonil 100 MG Description

Trazonil tablet is a prescription medicine used to treat all types of depression. It has a single active ingredient, Trazodone. It is an antidepressant medication. The mode of action of Trazonil tabl

ets is by modulating the levels of specific chemical messengers to regulate mood and improve behaviour. The primary use of Trazonil tablets is to manage the symptoms of every type of depression, such as stress, fear, irritability, loss of interest, etc., even in those who did not respond to other medications. When used in moderate amounts, this medicine does not cause any addiction. However, there may be physical dependency (symptoms occur when the medicine is not taken) in persons using Trazonil tablets for a long time. Follow your doctor’s advice for using Trazonil tablets. Do not suddenly stop using this medicine; this can cause withdrawal symptoms like irritation, sweating, low heart rate, vomiting, etc. Sleeplessness, constipation, low sex desire, etc., are some of the side effects of Trazonil tablets. These tablets are to be used with caution as they tend to cause changes in mood and suicidal thoughts.

As per CDSCO, Trazonil tablets are primarily used to manage the following conditions:
Treat all types of depression.

Contraindications of Trazonil 100 MG

Do not take Trazonil tablets or take with caution:
If you have any allergic reactions to any component of this tablet.
If you are already using other antidepressants, it can cause severe adverse effects.
If you have a certain eye condition known as angle-closure glaucoma. It is associated with an increase in fluid pressure inside the eye. Trazonil worsens the condition.
If you have self-harming or suicidal thoughts.
If you have uncontrolled hypertension.
If you have serious heart illnesses like a recent heart attack, heart rhythm problem, etc.
If you have severe renal or liver impairment.

Side effects of Trazonil 100 MG

Side effects of Trazonil tablets include:

Nausea

Can I take Trazonil tablets during pregnancy?

Trazonil tablets are not recommended for pregnant women. However, they may be prescribed by a doctor if necessary, and the benefits outweigh the risks. As of today, there are inadequate studies on the safety of Trazonil tablets during pregnancy. Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the baby.

Breast Feeding

Can I take Trazonil tablets while breastfeeding?

There is not much information on the safety of Trazonil tablets for breastfeeding women and babies. Consult a doctor before taking this medication.

Driving

Can I drive if I have taken a Trazonil tablet?

No. Driving or operating heavy machinery after taking a Trazonil tablet is not safe, as this medicine can cause drowsiness, dizziness and blurred vision.

Alcohol

Can I consume alcohol with a Trazonil tablet?

It is not advisable to take Trazonil tablets with alcohol. Trazonil tablets exaggerate the effects of alcohol and may cause nausea, vomiting, sleepiness, dizziness, fainting and blurred vision.

Take Trazonil tablet exactly in the prescribed dose and the duration.
