Q: What should I inform my doctor before he/she prescribes the medicine?

A: You must discuss past and present diseases (particularly diabetes), ongoing medications, supplements and any herbal medicines that you are currently taking. If you are on antidiabetic medication or insulin, you must carefully track your blood sugar levels, particularly in the first month after taking the tablet because it could cause serious interactions.
