Telmikind 20 Tablet

• Telmikind 20 Tablet is used to treat high blood pressure in adults.
• It is also used to reduce the risk of heart attack, stroke, and death from cardiovascular causes in adults at high risk, including those with established heart or artery disease and people with diabetes who have organ damage.

• If you are allergic to telmisartan or any other ingredient of Telmikind 20 Tablet.
• If you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant.
• If you have a blockage of the bile ducts or severe liver disease.
• If you have diabetes or moderate to severe kidney disease and are taking a medicine containing aliskiren.
• If you have a history of swelling of the face, lips or tongue with a similar medicine.

• Dizziness, especially when starting treatment
• Back pain or muscle pain
• Sinus or chest congestion
• Diarrhoea
• Raised blood potassium
• Low blood pressure
• Tiredness
• Rise in kidney blood test results

Other General Warnings

• You have kidney disease, a kidney transplant, or a narrowing of the arteries supplying the kidneys.
• You have liver or gallbladder disease.
• You have heart failure or ischaemic heart disease.
• You have high blood potassium, or take potassium supplements or salt substitutes.
• You have diabetes, especially if you take aliskiren or an ACE inhibitor.
• You have a condition in which the adrenal glands produce too much aldosterone.
• You have been vomiting, have diarrhoea, or are dehydrated or on a low-salt diet.
• You are due to have surgery or anaesthesia.

• Telmikind 20 tablets should be taken as directed by your doctor.
• Swallow it as a whole with a glass of water, do not cut, break or chew the medicine.
• It would be best if you took it at a fixed time for optimal results.
• You should not consume it more than that prescribed by your doctor.

• Store Telmikind 20 tablet in a cool and dry place, protected from direct sunlight, moisture and heat.
• Keep it away from children and pets.

• Telmikind 20 Tablet relaxes and dilates your blood vessels, allowing blood to flow more easily and reducing blood pressure.
• Take it at the same time each day, with or without food; consistency is more important than the specific time.
• The full effects may take four to eight weeks, so don't judge the medication by how you feel in the first few days.
• Do not stop taking it when your blood pressure normalizes, as it can rise back within days or weeks.
• Avoid potassium-based salt substitutes and do not take potassium supplements without medical advice.
• Tell your doctor immediately if you become pregnant or are planning a pregnancy, as you must stop this medication.
• Report muscle weakness, numbness, or an irregular heartbeat, which may indicate high blood potassium levels.
• Seek urgent medical help if you experience swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat, or difficulty breathing.
• Avoid regular use of ibuprofen and similar painkillers unless approved by your doctor.
• Reduce salt intake, limit alcohol, stay active, maintain a healthy weight, and quit smoking.
• Attend your scheduled blood tests to monitor kidney function and potassium levels.

Interactions with other medicines

• Some medicines can affect the way Telmikind 20 tablet works or this medicine itself can reduce the effectiveness of other medicines taken at the same time.
• Tell your doctor about all the medicines, supplements or herbals you are currently taking or might take to avoid any possible interaction.
• Especially, if you are on certain medications like blood thinners (warfarin or heparin), potassium supplements or medicines containing potassium, other anti-hypertensives like water pills (furosemide), immunosuppressives (Cyclosporin or Tacrolimus), medicines for heart-related disorders like digoxin, etc.
• If you have diabetes, do not take aliskiren along with this medicine.
• Concomitant use of Telmikind 20 tablet and painkillers, should be avoided as it may impair kidney functions.
• Other medicines that should be used with caution are anti-bacterial medicines such as Trimethoprim, corticosteroids used to treat the inflamed area of body parts, etc.
• Also, you should inform your doctor if you have a planned surgery or vaccination scheduled.
