Soframycin 1 %W/W Description

Soframycin Skin cream is an antibiotic medicine. This cream is used for the treatment of skin, hair and nail infections caused by bacteria. Soframycin is also used on open wounds suspected to have a bacterial infection. It is also used for the treatment of infection in the external ear.

Soframycin Skin cream contains framycetin as its active ingredient. Framycetin is an antibiotic that kills the bacteria responsible for the infection. It inhibits protein synthesis in the bacterial cell by binding to specific receptors in the ribosomes of infection-causing bacteria.

Your doctor decides the dose and duration of treatment with Soframycin cream after diagnosis. In order to see effective results, you should use this medicine as advised by your doctor for the exact prescribed time. This cream should be used externally only. Frade 1% cream also contains framycetin.

  • Soframycin Skin cream is used for the infection of hair, nails, skin and external ears, such as impetigo, furunculosis, sycosis barbae, otitis media and paronychia.
  • To treat skin conditions such as burns, scalds, wounds, ulcers and boils suspected to have a bacterial infection.
  • It is also used to treat secondary infection in sores due to scabies and scratching of scalp skin due to lice.
