Serenace Tablet is a prescription medicine indicated for patients who have Schizophrenia. Schizophrenia is a mental disorder where a patient starts to see and hear unreal things and is delusional. Se

renace Tablet has Haloperidol as an active ingredient. Haloperidol belongs to a group of medicines called antipsychotics. It functions by blocking certain chemical messengers in the brain, which helps the patient think clearly. Serenace Tablet displays specific side effects such as insomnia, headache, blurred vision, weight gain and dizziness. It is taken only with a doctor’s recommendation as a long term medication. This medicine cannot be discontinued without consulting a doctor.

Breast Feeding

Can I take Serenace Tablet while breastfeeding?
Serenace Tablet has proven to pass in human milk, hence it has to be avoided. However, inform your doctor if you are lactating.


Can I drive if I have taken Serenace Tablet?
Driving after taking Serenace Tablet is not recommended as it causes dizziness and drowsiness. Hence, driving or operating any heavy machinery after taking Serenace should be avoided.


Can I consume alcohol with the Serenace Tablet?
Avoid consuming alcohol while taking Serenace Tablet as it tends to increase dizziness and drowsiness and would not let you think clearly.

Other General Warnings

Talk to your doctor if
  • You have any kind of visual, liver, or kidney disorder without a doctor’s supervision.
  • You have a history of blood disorder, bipolar disorder, Parkinson’s disease, Hyperthyroidism, low white blood count, or any other disease.
  • You’re taking any vitamins or supplements along with Serenace, even if the supplement is herbal, ayurvedic or any other category.
  • The symptoms might not improve for a few weeks initially, so continue taking medicine.
  • Serenace does not cure Schizophrenia; it just helps improve the symptoms. Be regular with the dose; Serenace Tablet cannot be stopped without a doctor's recommendation.
  • Do not give Serenace Tablet to anyone you feel has the same symptoms; it can lead to serious side effects.

Directions for Use of Serenace 0.5 MG

  • Serenace Tablet is to be taken as per the doctor’s recommendation.
  • It is generally prescribed for long term usage and taken 1-2 times a day.
  • Take as advised by the doctor and preferably at the same time.
  • It can be taken with or without food, preferably with food to avoid stomach problems.
  • Do not stop taking the dose on your own if you start feeling better without consulting your doctor. It can worsen the situation.
  • Consume the tablet as a whole with some water.
  • The tablet should not be distorted in any way; it should not be chewed or crushed.
