Medical Description
Sepsivac suspension for injection is a medicine known as an immunomodulator ( a medicine that changes, adjusts, or regulates how your immune system acts). The active agent in the medicine is Mycobacterium indicus pranii (MIP), a non-pathogenic type of bacteria that assists in boosting the body’s defense and lowers harmful inflammation
It helps the body’s immune system fight illness (immunotherapeutic agent) in Sepsis (due to Gram-negative infections), where it is used as an adjuvant to standard treatment.
Sepsivac suspension for injection works by mediating a cell-mediated immune response (Th1 type), triggering the release of cytokines such as Interferon Gamma and Interleukin-2, which helps the body respond better to the underlying disease.
A trained healthcare professional gives it as an injection under the skin (intradermal) in a fixed dose. Sepsivac suspension for injection is recommended to be prescribed in patients aged 18-65 years
Sepsivac suspension for injection can cause injection-site reactions such as redness, hardening, or ulceration, which are usually mild and self-healing. Severe injection-site reactions, large ulcers, or abscesses can occur, most commonly due to faulty injection technique.
Inform your doctor if you develop fever, skin infection (septic skin conditions), or any long-standing debilitating condition before receiving the injection.
Uses

Contraindications
- A history of allergic reactions attributed to Sepsivac suspension for injection or any of its constituents.
- Individuals with fever
- Individuals with widespread septic skin conditions (if eczema is present, a site free from skin lesions should be chosen)
- Pregnant and Lactating women
- Patients with a chronic debilitating condition other than the condition being treated.

Directions for Use

- Do not give it intravenously, subcutaneously, or intramuscularly, and do not dilute it with IV fluids.
Storage and disposal
- Sepsivac suspension for injection should be stored in a refrigerator (2°C to 8°C), protected from light.
- Do not freeze.
- Discard the vial if it has been frozen.
- Shake well before use.
- Keep out of the reach of children.
- Dispose of unused medicine or waste material according to local guidelines for medicinal waste.
- Do not use the injection after the expiry date on the label.
