Medical Description
Satrogyl-O Tablet is a combination antibiotic used to treat diarrhoea caused by mixed bacterial infections. It contains ofloxacin and satranidazole as active ingredients, which work together to stop the growth of harmful organisms in the gut. By targeting the infection directly, Satrogyl-O helps relieve symptoms like loose stools, abdominal discomfort, and dehydration.
This medicine should be taken exactly as prescribed by your doctor. It is important to complete the full course of treatment, even if symptoms improve before finishing the tablets, to ensure the infection is fully treated and to prevent recurrence. Satrogyl-O Tablet should be consumed with or after meals to reduce the risk of stomach upset.
Satrogyl-O Tablet is not recommended for children under 18 years of age. Avoid drinking alcohol while taking this medicine, as it may increase dizziness and other side effects. Always follow the prescribed dose and schedule, and never skip or double doses without consulting your doctor.
Some patients may experience side effects such as dry mouth, headache, dizziness, nausea, vomiting, weakness, or stomach pain. If these symptoms persist or worsen, contact your doctor immediately. Keeping hydrated and resting while on the medication can help manage minor side effects.
Before starting Satrogyl-O Tablet, inform your doctor about your complete medical history and any other medicines, supplements, or herbal products you are taking. This ensures the medicine works safely and effectively while avoiding potential interactions. Proper adherence to the prescribed course, along with supportive care, helps in faster recovery from diarrhoea and prevents complications.
