Interactions with other medicines

  • Reziz Forte tablet in patients taking folate inhibitors may further depress folate metabolism
  • Pyrimethamine with trimethoprim/sulphonamide combination may result in megaloblastic anaemia
  • Concurrent administration of methotrexate and pyrimethamine to children with central nervous system leukaemia may result and increase the risk of convulsions
  • When given with other antimalarial medicines increases the risk of seizures
  • Concurrent administration of lorazepam and daraprim may induce hepatotoxicity
  • The presence of antacid salt or anti-diarrhoeal agent like kaolin reduced the absorption of pyrimethamine
  • Co-administration of sulfadoxine and insulin increases the risk to hypoglycaemia
