Interactions
Interactions with other medicines
- Reziz Forte tablet in patients taking folate inhibitors may further depress folate metabolism
- Pyrimethamine with trimethoprim/sulphonamide combination may result in megaloblastic anaemia
- Concurrent administration of methotrexate and pyrimethamine to children with central nervous system leukaemia may result and increase the risk of convulsions
- When given with other antimalarial medicines increases the risk of seizures
- Concurrent administration of lorazepam and daraprim may induce hepatotoxicity
- The presence of antacid salt or anti-diarrhoeal agent like kaolin reduced the absorption of pyrimethamine
- Co-administration of sulfadoxine and insulin increases the risk to hypoglycaemia
