Qutan Sr 400 mg tablet is a prescription medication mainly used to treat schizophrenia and bipolar disorder (manic depression). Schizophrenia is a psychotic disorder characterised by episodes of hallucinations, delusions, and extremely disordered thinking and behaviour. Bipolar disorder causes extreme mood swings with emotional highs (mania or hypomania) and lows (depression). The active ingredient in Qutan Sr 400 mg tablet is Quetiapine. It works by stabilising the levels of certain chemical messengers that help manage mood, thoughts, and behaviour. Directions for use of Qutan Sr 400 mg should be strictly followed. This medicine should not be taken without consulting a doctor as there are many side effects associated with this medicine. Sudden stoppage of Qutan Sr 400 mg tablets can cause clinical worsening of the user's condition or may lead to withdrawal-like symptoms.
