• As per CDSCO or USFDA, Qutan Sr 400 mg tablet is used for the treatment of:
• Schizophrenia
• Mania in bipolar disorder

• Do not take Qutan Se 400 mg tablets or use caution:
• If you are allergic to Quetiapine, a component of Qutan Sr 400 mg tablet
• If you have been diagnosed with dementia (memory loss)
• If the affected individual is in a coma state.
• If you have acute angle glaucoma (a condition that increases the fluid pressure in the eyes)
• If you have severe central nervous system depression (reduces the functionality of breathing)
• If you have neuroleptic malignant syndrome (a neuromuscular disorder)
• If you take anti-Parkinson's medications.
• If you have a history of stroke or are at high risk of having a stroke.
• If you have diabetes.
• If you have prostate or bladder problems.
• If you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

• Side effects of Qutan Sr 400 mg tablet include:
• Dizziness
• Drowsiness
• Dry mouth
• Constipation
• Abdominal pain
• Weight gain
• Lethargy

Other General Warnings

• You have an allergic reaction to Qutan Sr 400 mg tablets.
• You have self-harming thoughts or engage in suicidal ideation.
• You experience severe persistent side effects.
• Your symptoms do not resolve, or there is a worsening of your condition.
• You are an older adult over 65 years of age.
• You have a history of mild or severe liver and kidney disease. This medicine may need a dose adjustment.
• You are pregnant or planning to conceive during the course of treatment.
• You use any herbal or Ayurvedic medicines, vitamins, and other health supplements.

• Take Qutan Sr 400 mg tablet as prescribed by the doctor.
• Take this medicine with or without food or as prescribed by the doctor.
• Take this medicine on a regular schedule, preferably at the same time every day.
• Consume the whole tablet orally with a glass of water. Do not crush/break the tablet or chew this medicine.
• Do not take this tablet with other medication without consulting your doctor.
• Do not abruptly stop taking this medication, as it may lead to withdrawal symptoms.
• Do not exceed the dosage without consulting the doctor.

Interactions with other medicines

• Qutan Sr 400 mg tablets can interact with prescription and non-prescription medications, herbal products, and nutritional supplements and cause adverse side effects. It is advised to inform the doctor of all medication being taken to be checked for possible interaction issues. The following medicines are known to interact with Qutan Sr 400 mg tablets.
• Interaction with anxiety medicines such as diazepam, clonazepam, chlordiazepoxide, alprazolam, and lorazepam may lead to extreme sedation and drowsiness.
• Interaction with blood-pressure-lowering medicine such as amlodipine, lisinopril, losartan, or metoprolol may lead to low blood pressure.
• Interaction with anti-Parkinson's medicines, such as levodopa, can reduce the effect of Qutan Sr 400 mg tablets.
• Interaction with antidepressants like clomipramine, desipramine, imipramine, amitriptyline, amoxapine, etc.; monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) like isocarboxazid, linezolid, methylene blue, selegiline, rasagiline; antihistamines (allergy medicines); painkillers like such as morphine, oxycodone, fentanyl, hydrocodone, tramadol, codeine; and sleeping pills can lead to severe adverse effects.

• Avoid having grapefruit juice while on treatment with Qutan Sr 400 mg tablet.
