Description
Prolet tabet is an anti-convulsant or anti-epileptic medicine. It is used for the treatment and prevention of seizures (fits) in people who suffer from epilepsy. Epilepsy is a neurological disorder c
haracterised by abnormal behaviour & sensation, loss of consciousness and uncontrolled movements. Prolet tablet contains Primidone as its active ingredient. It acts by reducing the abnormal electrical activity of neurons in the brain. Few people develop thoughts of self-harm after taking this medicine or similar medicines, inform your doctor immediately if at any time you have these thoughts.

Primidone passes into breast milk and may make your baby sleepy. Take your doctor's advice if you are breastfeeding.
Driving

Can I drive if I have consumed Prolet tablet?

This medicine can make you feel dizzy. It is not advised to drive after taking this medicine.
Alcohol

Can I consume alcohol with Prolet tablet?
A:
You should not consume alcohol if you are on Prolet tablet.
Other General Warnings
Talk to your doctor if
- You ever had respiratory, kidney or liver-related problems.
- You are pregnant or are trying to become pregnant.
- You are getting thoughts of killing or harming yourself after taking this medicine, immediately consult your doctor.
- Frequency of your seizures increases or if seizures of a different type appear.
- You develop ulcers in the mouth, throat, nose, genitals and conjunctivitis (red and swollen eyes) after taking this medicine.
- You experience any kind of rashes, blisters on your skin after taking this medicine.

Directions for Use
- Take the Prolet tablet as advised by your doctor.
- Try to take this medicine at the same time every day.
Interactions
Interactions with other medicines
- Tell your doctor about all the medicines, supplements or herbals you are currently taking or might take.
- Some medicines can affect the way Primidone works or Primidine itself can reduce the effectiveness of other medicines taken at the same time.
- Especially, if you are taking medicines to treat blood pressure, heart failure, high cholesterol, blood thinners, anti-infectives, anti-diabetics, anti-asthmatics, pain killers, immunomodulatory medicines, contraceptives or medicines for brain-related disorders....

Keep your tablets below 25°C away from light and heat.
Dosage
Overdose
Taking this medicine in excess can be dangerous as it can cause respiratory failure, coma, loss of consciousness etc. If you accidentally take more than your normal dose, contact your doctor or visit your nearest hospital....
Missed a Dose
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. Do not take a double dose of this medicine to compensate for the missed one.
