Medical Description
Premarin 0.625 tablet contains Conjugated Oestrogens, which is a type of medicine known as Hormone Replacement Therapy. It is used to treat menopausal symptoms such as hot flushes, sleep problems, irritability and depression in postmenopausal women. It can also be used to treat osteoporosis (bone loss and fragility) in postmenopausal women who are prone to fractures.
Premarin 0.625 tablet works by imitating the actions of the natural hormone and is used to manage the symptoms of menstrual & gynaecological disorders due to imbalance in the hormonal levels.
Premarin 0.625 tablets should be taken as directed by the doctor and in doses and duration as prescribed. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy or are breastfeeding and about all the medicines and supplements you take and all the conditions or diseases you suffer from, before starting this medicine.
Do not self-medicate with the Premarin 0.625 tablet and it is recommended to follow all the instructions given by your doctor before taking this tablet.
Uses
- Premarin 0.625 tablet is used in the treatment of menstrual & gynaecological disorders due to hormonal imbalance.
- It is also used in preventing bone problems like osteoporosis during the post-menopausal stage.
Contraindications
- If you are allergic to conjugated estrogen or other excipients present in the Premarin 0.625 tablet.
- If you have any kind of pre-existing health condition such as breast cancer, blood clotting disorder, heart or liver-related problem.
- If you have a known history of womb cancer and womb related problems.
- If you have a known history of vaginal bleeding (unexplained).
- If you ever had a history of a blood clot in any of the organs or legs.
- If you are pregnant or are breastfeeding women.

- You have a history or currently having low levels of calcium in the blood.
Directions for Use
- Premarin 0.625 tablet should be taken as directed by the doctor.
- Swallow it as a whole with a glass of water.
- Do not break, crush or chew the medicine. It is recommended to take it regularly and at a fixed time.
- Do not consume it more than that prescribed by your doctor.

- Inform your doctor about any other medicines, herbal preparations and supplements you are currently taking or might take to avoid any interaction with this combination of medicine.
- Especially, if you are taking medicines for treating fits, bacterial and fungal infections, Cushing syndrome, stomach ulcers, Anti-tuberculosis medicines, anti-HIV medicines, St. John’s wort (herbal medicine for brain disorder), etc.
- Concomitant use of steroid medicines like dexamethasone with the Premarin 0.625 tablet should be avoided.
