Medical Description
Predmet 16 tablet is a steroid medicine. It is used for the treatment of various allergic conditions like skin allergies, asthma and lung-related problems. It contains methylprednisolone as the active substance. Medrol 16 tablet, Zempred 16 tablet, Ivepred 16 tablet and Rednisol 16 tablet are some other medications with methylprednisolone as the active substance.
Take this medicine as suggested by the doctor and in the dose and duration prescribed. Do not stop taking the medicine on your own. Before using this medicine, inform the doctor if you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy or breastfeeding and about your detailed medical history.
Uses
- Predmet 16 tablet is used for the treatment and/or suppression of inflammatory and allergic disorders associated with different organs.
- It is also helpful in treating various allergic conditions like asthma and skin allergies.
Contraindications
- If you are allergic to methylprednisolone, steroids, or any other component of Predmet 16 tablet.
- If you have any infection such as infection of the lungs, throat, or food pipe.
- If you have any untreated infection.
- If you recently had or have an upcoming vaccination scheduled.

- You experience mood disturbances, fits, and other psychiatric problems including suicidal thoughts after taking this medicine.
- You have an infection (such as fungal infection, measles, chickenpox, etc.) and you are taking medicines to suppress the immune response.
- You experience visual disturbances and eye infections.
- You are elderly, you have a heart problem, high blood pressure, cholesterol, blood clotting problems, or liver and kidney diseases.
- You develop any skin allergies.
- You develop a rise in blood sugar levels or you are diabetic.
- You experience inflammation and swelling in different parts of your gut like the stomach, pancreas, or you develop ulcers.
Directions for Use
- Take Predmet 16 tablet exactly as prescribed by your doctor.
- Swallow as a whole with a glass of water.
- Do not break, crush or chew the medicine.
- Take at the same time every day for optimal results.
- Avoid taking doses more than that recommended.

- Store Predmet 16 tablet at room temperature and away from heat and moisture.
- Keep the medicine away from children and pets.

Interactions
Interactions with other medicines
- Some medicines can affect the way Predmet 16 tablet works or this medicine itself can reduce the effectiveness of other medicines taken at the same time.
- Tell your doctor about all the medicines, supplements, or herbals you are currently taking or might take to avoid any possible interaction.
- Especially, if you are taking antitubercular medicines, antibiotics, blood pressure reducing medicines, oral contraceptives, antacids, and antidiabetic medicines.
- Immunosuppressants like cyclosporine and tacrolimus, you are more likely to experience side effects of either of the medicine.
- Concomitant use of painkillers can cause the risk of stomach bleeding.
- Medicines used to treat muscle disorders (myasthenia gravis) such as distigmine, neostigmine, and pancuronium, if taken along with Predmet 16 tablet, can lead to muscle weakness.
