Contraindications
- If you are allergic to Mesalazine or any other ingredients of Pentasa 1g Sachet Of 1 Granules.
- If you have any problems with your liver or kidney.
- If you are allergic to salicylates (Diclofenac, Aspirin, Ibuprofen, etc).
- If your child is below the age of 6 years.

- You have any bleeding disorders.
- You have any lung diseases like asthma.
- You have ulcers in your stomach or intestines.
- You have any liver or kidney-related problems.
- You have experienced an allergic reaction while taking sulfasalazine.
- You develop fever, stomach pain & cramps, headache or rash after taking Pentasa 1g Sachet Of 1 Granules.
- You are on any medicines (Asirin, Ibuprofen, Diclofenac, etc) that may alter your kidney functions.
- Before and during treatment with this medicine, your doctor may want to monitor the liver, kidneys, blood and lungs periodically.
- You may develop kidney stones (symptoms like stomach pain, blood in urine) while on treatment with this medicine. Hence, drink plenty of water.
- Pentasa 1g Sachet Of 1 Granules is not recommended for children less than 6 years old.
Directions for Use
- Take Pentasa 1g Sachet Of 1 Granules exactly as directed by your doctor.
- Read the instructions on the label or leaflet before use.
- Empty the contents in the sachet on your tongue and then drink a glass of water or juice.
- Do not chew or crush the granules. Swallow it whole and make sure that no granules remain in your mouth.

Interactions with other medicines
- You should always tell the doctor if you are taking any other medicines, herbal preparations and supplements to avoid any interaction with Pentasa 1g Sachet Of 1 Granules.
- This medicine, when taken along with blood thinners like warfarin (used to prevent blood clot formation) may decrease the effect of warfarin.
- You need to be cautious while simultaneously taking this medicine along with medicines like azathioprine, 6-mercaptopurine (used in rheumatoid arthritis, Crohn's disease), thioguanine (used in cancer treatment).
