Peglec Oral Syrup
Description
Peglec syrup contains polyethylene glycol, an osmotic laxative that helps relieve constipation. It is suitable for adults and children above 8 years of age who experience difficulty in passing stools. Constipation can make you feel bloated, uncomfortable, and strained during bowel movements, and Peglec syrup helps provide gentle relief.
Constipation may occur due to low fibre intake, reduced water consumption, lack of exercise, or temporary lifestyle changes. Peglec syrup is used for easing occasional or chronic constipation as and when suggested by your physician. It supports regular bowel movements when combined with a healthy diet and adequate fluid intake.
Polyethylene glycol works by drawing water into the intestines. This softens hard stools and increases their volume, making them easier to pass. It does not get absorbed into your body in significant amounts and works locally in the bowel to improve stool consistency.
You should use it as advised by your physician. Shake the bottle well before use. The effect may typically be seen within 24 to 48 hours. Common side effects may include mild abdominal pain, bloating, nausea, or diarrhoea. These are usually temporary and settle on their own. Consult your doctor if they persist.
