Doctors prescribe Pedicloryl syrup for children to induce sleep before any minor medical or surgical procedure is undertaken. This makes the child calm and helps reduce anxiety and pain. It is also g

iven to treat insomnia in children. Insomnia is a condition in which there is difficulty falling asleep or staying asleep. Pedicloryl belongs to a group of drugs known as sedative-hypnotics and is classified as non- barbiturate. The active ingredient in Pedicloryl is triclofos. This medicine has the advantage of good taste and palatability, leading to better acceptance by children. It has wide availability, low cost, and lesser side effects. It is beneficial in inducing deep, prolonged sleep with quick onset.

If this medicine is indicated but cannot be taken in tablet form, then syrup is taken as advised by the doctor. The compound in Pedicloryl can cause harm to the unborn child if taken during pregnancy.

Can I take Pedicloryl syrup while breastfeeding?

No. Pedicloryl syrup is recommended for pediatric use. You should not take it as it can pass through the breast milk and cause adverse effects in the newborn.

Driving

Can I drive if I have taken Pedicloryl Syrup?

Pedicloryl Syrup is prescribed to only children or people who cannot take oral medication in tablet form for specific reasons. If you have taken Pedicloryl syrup accidentally or intentionally, your drive ability may be affected. It causes sleepiness and diminished reflexes.
