Medical Description

Pantodac DSR capsule is an antacid and anti-reflux medicine. It contains pantoprazole and domperidone as the active substances. It is used to treat and provide relief of the symptoms of acid reflux disease like heartburn and chest discomfort. Avoid drinking caffeinated beverages like tea, coffee, soda, and spicy, junk food during treatment with this medicine which otherwise may increase your acidity. Long-term use of this medicine may cause vitamin B12 deficiency. Inform your doctor if you have a deficiency of vitamin B12 before taking the medicine. Take this medicine as suggested by the doctor and in the dose and duration prescribed. Do not stop taking the medicine on your own. Before using this medicine, inform the doctor if you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy, or breastfeeding and about your detailed medical history. This medicine is not meant for use in children less than 12 years of age.

How Does It Work?

  • Pantodac DSR capsule works by the combined action of its two ingredients - pantoprazole and domperidone.
  • A pump called the proton pump in the stomach is responsible for the secretion of stomach acids. Pantoprazole binds to this proton pump in stomach cells, thus blocking acid secretion.
