Omnicef O Suspension is an antibiotic medicine containing cefixime as its main component. It is used in the treatment of bacterial infections such as infections of the urinary tract, lungs, throat an
d airways, gallbladder and bile duct. It works by inhibiting the cell wall synthesis of bacteria which ultimately kills the bacteria. Omnicef O Suspension should be taken as directed by the doctor and in the correct doses and for the exact duration as prescribed. Do not stop taking this medicine on your own as this may lead to antibiotic resistance and infection may reoccur.

Contraindications of Omnicef O 100 MG/5ML
- If you are allergic to cefixime or any other ingredients of Omnicef O Suspension.
- If you are allergic to any other Cephalosporin antibiotics including Penicillin.

- You have problems with your liver or kidneys.
- You experience skin reactions after taking Omnicef O Suspension.
- You have or had encephalopathy (damage or disease that affects the brain and alters the way the brain works).
- You are suffering from a condition called haemolytic anaemia (a condition where red blood cells get broken down faster than they are formed).
- You experience watery diarrhoea, stomach pain and fever.
- You develop any allergic reaction after using Omnicef O Suspension.

How Does It Work?
Directions for Use of Omnicef O 100 MG/5ML
- Take Omnicef O Suspension as directed by your doctor.
- For reconstitution add boiled and cooled water, slightly below the mark on the bottle or as suggested by the doctor.
- Shake it well and make the volume up to the given mark on the bottle.
- Use a measuring cup, spoon or dropper for the exact quantity.
- Reconstituted solutions should be used within the duration mentioned on the bottle.

Interactions with other medicines
- Some medicines can affect the way Omnicef O Suspension works or this medicine itself can reduce the effectiveness of other medicines taken at the same time.
- Tell your doctor about all the medicines, supplements or herbals you are currently taking or might take to avoid any possible interactions.
- Especially, if you are taking medicines like carbamazepine (a medicine used to treat seizures, medications used for thinning of the blood such as Warfarin).

Dosage of Omnicef O 100 MG/5ML
Overdose
Missed a Dose
- It is advisable to complete the course of antibiotics and do not miss any dose. If you have missed taking any dose of Omnicef O Suspension, take it as early as you remember.
- If it is the time for your next dose, then skip the missed dose and continue with your regular dosing schedule.
- Do not take a double dose of this medicine to compensate for the missed one.
