Misoprost 200mcg Tablet
Misoprost 200 MCG Description
Misoprost tablets should only be used under medical supervision to treat the prescribed clinical condition. This medication works by increasing uterine contractions. You can take Misoprost tablets with food, on an empty stomach, or as advised by your gynaecologist. Swallow the whole tablet with a drink of water or juice. If you vomit the tablet within 30 minutes of taking it, consult your doctor. The medication takes 24 hours to initiate its action and you will start experiencing bleeding after that.
Common side effects of Misoprost tablets include infection, nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, abdominal and uterine cramps, as well as heavy bleeding. If you experience these side effects and they appear to be serious, inform your gynaecologist immediately. After taking the medication, vaginal bleeding may last for 10-12 days. If it continues after 12 days or if you experience unbearable cramps, contact your gynaecologist.
Before starting Misoprost tablets, inform your doctor if you have ever had an ectopic pregnancy or used an intrauterine contraceptive device. Nursing mothers should avoid taking Misoprost tablets.
