Medical Description

Lynx Capsule contains lincomycin, an antibiotic used to treat infection of lungs, airways, mouth, soft tissues and skin caused by various organisms. It works by inhibiting the growth of bacteria further preventing its spread. Lynx Capsule is used when other antibiotics are ineffective. It should not be used to treat viral infections. Take this medicine at the prescribed dose for a prescribed duration at the same time for optimal benefit. Inform your doctor about all the medical conditions and medication you are currently taking. If you experience any other symptoms while on this medication, reach out to your doctor or visit a nearby clinic or hospital.

Uses

Lynx Capsule is used for the treatment of serious bacterial infections (bacteria are sensitive to Lincomycin), where Penicillin and other antibiotics could not be given due to allergy or resistance issues.

Contraindications

If you are allergic to Lincomycin, other similar substance or any other component of Lynx Capsule.

Precautions and Warnings

Pregnancy

Lynx Capsule crosses the placenta. However, there is limited information about the effect of this medicine on pregnancy. It is recommended not to take this medicine unless prescribed by your doctor after considering it to be safe and necessary. Consult your doctor if you are pregnant or think you may be pregnant.

Breast Feeding

Lynx Capsule passes into the breastmilk and may be harmful to the baby. However, there is limited information about the effect of this medicine on nursing mothers. Driving

The effect of Lynx Capsule on driving has not been studied. However, if you experience dizziness, drowsiness, blurry vision, avoid driving.

Alcohol

The effect of alcohol on Lynx Capsule has not been studied. Usually consuming alcohol while on antibiotic decreases the effect of the medicine. Talk to your doctor if you consume it too often.

You had or have myasthenia gravis.

Directions for Use

Lynx Capsule should be taken as directed by your doctor. Swallow it whole with a glass of water. Take it at a fixed time for optimal results. Do not consume it more than that prescribed by your doctor.

Keep out of the reach of children and pets.

Lynx Capsule works by inhibiting the synthesis of essential proteins required for the bacterial cell wall formation, stopping the growth and prevents the spreading of the infection.

Interactions with other medicines

The effect of medicine used as a neuromuscular blocking agent such as rocuronium, tracrium increases when used along with Lynx Capsule.
Discuss with your doctor about any other medicine, herbal preparations and supplements you are taking currently to avoid interactions.

No, do not stop taking Lynx Capsule before the prescribed duration. Your symptoms may improve before the infection is completely cured. You should complete the full course of treatment, else there are chances of recurrence of an infection.

Yes, the use of Lynx Capsule can cause diarrhoea along with the desired effect but not everyone gets them.It is an antibiotic which kills both good and bad bacteria when good bacteria present in the intestine gets killed, it can cause diarrhoea. If you are experiencing severe diarrhoea, talk to your doctor about it.

Lynx Capsule is effective if you take it at dose and duration advised by your doctor. If you stop taking this tablet once you start feeling good, the chance of recurrence of the infection increases.
