Librium Tablet has chlordiazepoxide as an active ingredient. It treats severe anxiety, tension, stress, insomnia related stress, elimination of alcohol withdrawal syndromes. Librium Tablet alters br
ain activity and relieves it. It functions by soothing the brain by reducing the excessive activity of nerve cells. Don't take this medicine without consulting your doctor. For optimal effects, take the medication at the same time of the day. Librium Tablet can be taken with or without food.

Pregnancy

This medicine is unsafe in pregnancy. Librium tablet transfers through the placenta and shows an increased risk of congenital malformations (cleft palate, cleft lip)and potential side effects on the foetus if taken during the first trimester of pregnancy. Infants of mothers who took Librium for a longer time or during the late phase of pregnancy show withdrawal symptoms such as hypoactivity, decreased body temperature, respiratory depression, apnea, feeding problems during the postnatal period.
Always consult the clinician before taking medications in pregnancy.
Breast Feeding

Librium Tablets are not safe to take while breastfeeding; as they pass through the milk, it can affect the baby. In that case, breastfed babies should be closely monitored.

Directions for Use of Librium 25 MG
- You should take Librium Tablets in the dose and duration prescribed by your doctor.
- Swallow it whole with water.
- It should not be chewed or crushed. Do not break the tablet.
- You can take Librium Tablets with or without food.

Interactions with other medicines
- Benzodiazepines - Librium tablets produce additive CNS depression effects when given with other CNS depressants, opioids, antihistamines, barbiturates.
- Concomitant use of clozapine and Librium tablets may produce marked sedation and excessive salivation.
- Concurrent administration of Librium tablets with valproate may lead to increased plasma concentrations and
- reduced elimination of lorazepam
