Medical Description
Ketosteril tablet is used for the prevention and management of chronic kidney disease. It contains a combination of isoleucine, leucine, phenylalanine, valine, methionine, lysine, threonine, tryptophan, histidine, tyrosine, nitrogen, and calcium as the active ingredients. Take Ketosteril tablet in the exact dose and duration as directed by the doctor. Before using this medicine, inform the doctor if you are pregnant/breastfeeding and about your complete medical history.

Contraindications
- If you are allergic to isoleucine, leucine, phenylalanine, valine, methionine, lysine, threonine, tryptophan, histidine, tyrosine, nitrogen, calcium, or any other ingredient of Ketosteril tablet.
- If you have high calcium levels.
- If you have a disturbed amino acid metabolism.

- You have a condition called hereditary phenylketonuria.
- You are taking medicines containing aluminium hydroxide.
Directions for Use
- Ketosteril tablets should be taken as directed by your doctor.

- Do not cut, break or chew the medicine.
- It would be best if you took it at a fixed time for optimal results.
- Do not consume more than the dose prescribed by your doctor.

Missed a Dose
- If you have missed taking any dose of Ketosteril tablet, take it as soon as you remember.
- However, if it's time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular dose schedule.
- Do not take a double dose of medicine to compensate for the missed one.

Interactions with other medicines
- Some medicines can affect the way Ketosteril tablet works, or this medicine itself can reduce the effectiveness of other medicines taken at the same time.
- Tell your doctor about all the medicines, supplements, or herbals you are currently taking or might take to avoid any possible interaction.
- Simultaneous use of medicines that contain calcium may cause an increase in calcium levels in the body.
- Particular care should be taken if you are taking medicines for treating bacterial infection (tetracyclines, quinolones), prostate cancer (estramustin), iron-containing medicines, and fluoride. There should be an interval of at least 2 hours between the intake of Ketosteril tablets and such medicines.
- Caution should be exercised if you are taking medicines for managing heart failure (cardiac glycosides like digoxin).
