Uses
- Irban 5 tablet is used for the management of heart-related chest pain (angina pectoris) in adults.
- It is also used to manage chronic heart failure in adults.
Contraindications
- If you are allergic to ivabradine or any other ingredient of Irban 5 tablet.
- If you have any heart disease or low blood pressure.
- If you have any liver problems.
- If you are pregnant, planning to get pregnant or breastfeeding.
- If you are using medicines to treat your fungal infection (ketoconazole, itraconazole, etc), using antibiotics (clarithromycin, erythromycin), medicines to treat HIV infection (nelfinavir, ritonavir, etc), medicines to treat psychiatric illness like nefazodone or medicines to treat heart conditions (diltiazem, verapamil). If you are not sure what these medicines are, please confirm with your doctor.

Directions for Use
- Take Irban 5 tablet exactly as recommended by the doctor.
- Swallow it as a whole with a glass of water.
- Do not cut, break or chew the medicine.
- Do not take more than the prescribed dose.

- Irban 5 tablet should be stored at room temperature protected from moisture and heat.
- Keep out of reach and sight of children and pets.

Overdose
- Excess of Irban 5 tablet may cause problems like a slower heart rate.
- Seek urgent medical help if you experience any such symptoms or feel you have taken too much of this medicine.
Missed a Dose
- In case you've missed any dose of Irban 5 tablet, take it as soon as you remember it.
- If it is almost time for the next dose, then skip the missed dose.
- Avoid taking a double dose to compensate for the missed dose.

Interactions with other medicines
- Some medicines can affect the way Irban 5 tablet works or this medicine itself might affect the working of other medicines.
- Inform your doctor about all the medicines, herbals or supplements that you are currently taking or might take to avoid any possible interaction. Also, you should inform your doctor if you have a planned surgery or vaccination scheduled.
- Concomitant use of this medicine along with medicines like quinidine, amiodarone (used in heart diseases), pimozide (used to treat mental health) and pentamidine (used in pneumonia) is not recommended.
- You need to be cautious while using water pills like hydrochlorothiazide, indapamide, furosemide and bumetanide along with this medicine, as they may cause reduced heartbeats.
- Irban 5 tablet should not be used along with medicines like ketoconazole (anti-fungal), ritonavir (used in HIV infection), clarithromycin (antibiotic), nefazodone (used to treat mental health) and diltiazem, verapamil (used to treat high blood pressure and heart diseases).
- Medicines like fluconazole, rifampicin, phenytoin, omeprazole, simvastatin, amlodipine, digoxin and warfarin should be used cautiously along with this medicine.
