Headon Injection is used to treat children who have experienced growth failure due to insufficient secretion of endogenous growth hormone (GH). It can also be used to address low stature in adults. The most common side effects of this medication include injection site reactions, headaches, and rashes. If these concern you or appear serious, consult your doctor.

For the treatment of patients who have growth failure due to growth hormone deficiency.
Long-term treatment of growth failure associated with chronic renal insufficiency up to the time of renal transplant and patients suffering from Turner's syndrome.

Contraindications of Headon 4 IU/ML

Allergy to somatotropin or any of the components in the formulation
Closed epiphyses (growth plates)
Active malignancy
Diabetic retinopathy
Prader-Willi syndrome with severe obesity or severe respiratory impairment
Acute critical illness

Side effects of Headon 4 IU/ML

Joint pain
Water retention (evidenced by puffy fingers or swollen ankles)
Temporary redness, itchiness, or pain at the injection site
Numbness or tingling
Rash

Before reconstitution: Store in a refrigerator (2°C–8°C) or up to 1 month at or below 25°C. Keep in the outer carton to protect from light.
After reconstitution: Store in a refrigerator (2°C–8°C), do not freeze, and keep in the outer carton to protect from light.

Overdose

Acute overdose may cause initial hypoglycemia followed by hyperglycemia, while long-term overdose can lead to symptoms of excess human growth hormone.
