Gressami tablet is a prescription medicine used to treat schizophrenic disorder. Schizophrenia is a mental health condition characterised by episodes of hallucination, delusion, disordered thinking a
nd behaviour. Gressami tablet contains Amisulpride as an active ingredient. Amisulpride belongs to an atypical antipsychotic class of medicine. It works by blocking the serotonin and dopamine receptors in the brain. Gressami tablet dosage should be taken as advised by your doctor. There are also many side effects associated with this medicine, so the dosage must be carefully monitored, especially in the elderly. Do not quit taking the Gressami tablet suddenly without consulting your doctor, as it can cause clinical worsening of your condition or may lead to withdrawal symptoms.

- As per CDSCO, the Gressami tablet is used to treat acute and chronic schizophrenic disorders.
Contraindications of Gressami 50 MG
- Gressami tablet is contraindicated in the following cases:
- If you are allergic to components of Gressami Table
- If you are already on other antipsychotic medication
- If you have breast cancer or a family history of breast cancer
- If you have Parkinson's disease or dementia
- If you have an adrenal gland tumour, this medicine can cause life-threatening high blood pressure
- If you are pregnant or planning for it
- If you have liver and kidney disease
- If you have respiratory issues

How Does It Work?
Directions for Use of Gressami 50 MG
- Take Gressami tablet as prescribed by the doctor.
- Take Gressami tablet with or without food or as prescribed by the doctor.
- Take Gressami tablet on a regular schedule, preferably at the same time every day, to maintain its constant level in the body.
- Swallow the whole tablet orally with a full glass of water. Do not crush the tablet or chew this medicine.
- Do not take a Gressami tablet with other medications without consulting your doctor.
- Do not stop taking the Gressami tablet suddenly, as it may lead to withdrawal side effects.
- Do not exceed the dosage on your own, even if you cannot feel its effects.
Interactions of Gressami 50 MG
Interactions with other medicines
- Gressami tablet interaction with anxiety medicines, such as clonazepam, diazepam, chlordiazepoxide, alprazolam and lorazepam, may result in sedation and drowsiness.
- Taking Gressami tablets with Levodopa for Parkinson’s disease is not recommended, as they have exactly opposite effects.
- Gressami tablet interaction with blood-pressure-lowering medicine may lead to low blood pressure, such as amlodipine, lisinopril, losartan, or metoprolol.
- Gressami tablet interaction with painkillers, such as morphine, oxycodone, tramadol, fentanyl, hydrocodone and codeine, may cause sedation and drowsiness.
- Gressami tablet interaction with antifungal medications like itraconazole and ketoconazole can reduce its effects.
- Gressami tablet interaction with antidepressants or mood-elevating medicines like fluoxetine and desipramine can cause increased side effects.
- Gressami tablet interacts with other sedatives, heart medicines, antimalarial medicines, antihistamines, etc. All these medications can cause interactions.
