Contraindications
- If you are allergic to Gentamicin or any other ingredients of Gentalab E/E drops.
- If you have problems with your eyes or ears.
- If you have a condition that causes muscle weakness.
Side effects
- Irritation, burning, stinging and itching at the application site.
- Blurred vision, Hearing loss (uncommon).

- You have problems with your kidney or liver.
- You will use these drops for a prolonged time.
- You have open wounds.
- You have damaged skin.
- You experience any visual disturbances or blurred vision.
- You need to avoid wearing contact lenses for at least 15 minutes after instilling these eye drops.
- The Gentalab E/E drop bottle should only be used by one person, use by more than one person may spread the infection.
- If you use another eye or ear drop product concomitantly with Gentalab E/E drops, keep a minimum gap of 15 minutes between the application of two medicines.
Directions for Use
- Use Gentalab E/E drops as instructed by your doctor.
- Shake well before use.
- Read the instructions on the bottle before usage.
- Follow the directions carefully & do not miss doses.
- Wash your hands thoroughly before and after application of Gentalab E/E drops.
- Avoid touching the tip of the container directly to the infected area.
- If you are wearing contact lenses, remove them and then instill the drops.
- Wipe any excess liquid from your face with a tissue.
- Use the exact number of drops recommended.
- If you are prescribed any other eye or ear drops, you need to keep an interval of at least 5 minutes between both the drops.

- As Gentalab E/E drop is meant for application in the eye or ear, cases of overdose are unlikely. However, upon accidental ingestion, contact your doctor immediately or visit the nearest hospital.
- If you think you have instilled too much of this medicine, wipe out the extra quantity with cotton and tissue.

Interactions
Interactions with other medicines
- You should always tell the doctor if you are taking any other medicines, herbal preparation and supplements to avoid any interactions.
- Water pills (diuretics) such as furosemide or etacrynic acid should not be used along with Gentalab E/E drops.
- Medicines used to treat fungal infections like Amphotericin B should not be used along with this medicine, as it may increase the risk of having a toxic effect on the kidney.
- Be cautious if you are taking Cephalosporin antibiotics such as cephaloridine or Botulinum toxin, which is used to lower the activity of overactive muscles.
- You may experience low calcium levels if you take Gentalab E/E drops with Ciclosporin used to treat bone weakness.
- Other medicine like indomethacin, neostigmine, pyridostigmine, Cisplatin must be used with caution along with Gentalab E/E drops.
- If you use another eye or ear drop product concomitantly with this medicine, keep a minimum gap of 15 minutes between the application of both the medicines.
