Fluvoxin Cr is used for treating patients with obsessive-compulsive disorders or OCD, social anxiety disorders (SAD) and depression disorders. It contains Fluvoxamine Maleate, which belongs to an ant

idepressant category of medicines. It acts by regulating serotonin and other neurotransmitters or brain chemicals. Can I take Fluvoxin Cr during pregnancy?

No. Tab. Fluvoxin Cr is not normally advised to be taken when pregnant. Continuing Fluvoxin Cr throughout pregnancy could result in withdrawal symptoms like restlessness, tremors, poor feeding and high pitched crying in your baby. Consult a doctor if you become pregnant while taking Tab. Fluvoxin Cr. If you've been taking Tab. Fluvoxin Cr regularly, don't quit suddenly and consult your doctor at the earliest.

Breast Feeding

Can I take Fluvoxin Cr while breastfeeding?

If a mother requires Fluvoxamine, she may not have to discontinue breastfeeding. Fluvoxin Cr is not expected to cause serious side effects. One should always consult a doctor or a gynaecologist before continuing Fluvoxin Cr during breastfeeding.

Driving

Can I drive if I have taken Fluvoxin Cr?

No. Driving is not recommended during the course of Fluvoxin Cr as it may cause motor incoordination, dizziness, drowsiness, confusion and lethargy and may affect your ability to drive or use machines.

Alcohol

Can I consume alcohol with Fluvoxin Cr?

No. You should abstain from alcohol during the course of this tablet as dangerous side effects such as restlessness, agitation, seizures or fits, breathing difficulties, confusion, disorientation and blurring of vision can occur.

Directions for Use of Fluvoxin Cr 100 MG

Fluvoxin Cr is to be taken orally. Do not crush or chew and take it with a glass of water.
It should be taken regularly, with or without food and as directed.
Fluvoxin Cr tablets should be taken at the same time each day to help you remember.
Follow the directions on your prescription label carefully, and if you have any questions, ask your doctor or pharmacist to explain anything you don't understand.
Do not modify doses or take it more frequently than prescribed by your doctor.
Do not give your medications to anyone else.
During your treatment, refrain from drinking alcohol or smoking cigarettes.
It may take 4-6 weeks for the medication to reach full effectiveness.

Interactions with other medicines

Fluvoxin Cr tablet may interact with the following medications; therefore, you must inform your consulting physician about any medications you are on.
Antidepressants, particularly Selegiline, Phenelzine, and Rasagiline, may cause serotonin syndrome.
Lithium, which is used in Bipolar disease (depression and hyperactivity), may exaggerate the effect of Fluvoxin Cr 100mg Tablet.
Pimozide (used for controlling unwanted movements) may cause abnormal heartbeat.
Anti-anxiety meds like Alprazolam and Diazepam can increase levels, leading to toxicity.
Blood thinners like Warfarin where there may be an increased risk of bleeding.
Pain controlling medicines like Methadone whose levels can be increased.
Anti asthmatic medicines like Theophylline where serum levels of both may be increased.

Interactions with food items

You can continue with your usual diet unless your doctor tells you otherwise.
Fluvoxin Cr tablets can be taken with or without food.
