Fluvoxin Cr 100 MG Description

Fluvoxin Cr is used for treating patients with obsessive-compulsive disorders or OCD, social anxiety disorders (SAD) and depression disorders. It contains Fluvoxamine Maleate, which belongs to an ant

idepressant category of medicines. It acts by regulating serotonin and other neurotransmitters or brain chemicals. Your consulting physician will select the dose and frequency of the Fluvoxin Cr tablet after analysing your condition. It takes approximately 4-6 weeks for Fluvoxin Cr to attain its full potential.   • Fluvoxin Cr is to be taken orally. Do not crush or chew and take it with a glass of water.
  • It should be taken regularly, with or without food and as directed.

Interactions with other medicines

  • Fluvoxin Cr tablet may interact with the following medications; therefore, you must inform your consulting physician about any medications you are on.
  • Antidepressants, particularly Selegiline, Phenelzine, and Rasagiline, may cause serotonin syndrome.
  • Lithium, which is used in Bipolar disease (depression and hyperactivity), may exaggerate the effect of Fluvoxin Cr 100mg Tablet.
  • Pimozide (used for controlling unwanted movements) may cause abnormal heartbeat.
  • Anti-anxiety meds like Alprazolam and Diazepam can increase levels, leading to toxicity.
  • Blood thinners like Warfarin where there may be an increased risk of bleeding.
  • Pain controlling medicines like Methadone whose levels can be increased.
  • Anti asthmatic medicines like Theophylline where serum levels of both may be increased.
