Description
Floricot 100 mcg tablet is a steroid medicine containing Fludrocortisone as its main component. It is used to treat a condition called Addison’s disease, in which the adrenal glands do not produce su
fficient hormones. It is also used in salt-losing adrenogenital syndrome (a disease that limits the hormone production of the adrenal gland). Take Floricot 100 mcg tablet exactly as told by your doctor. Do not suddenly stop taking this tablet without consulting your doctor as it may worsen your condition.

Contraindications of Floricot 100 MCG
- If you are allergic to Fludrocortisone or any other ingredients of Floricot 100 mcg tablet.
- If you have an infection and are not on any medications for treating the same.

- You have an underactive thyroid gland.
- You have heart, liver or kidney diseases.
- You have a condition of muscle weakness.

- You are suffering from any mental health problems.
- You have problems with your stomach or intestine.
- You have any eye problems like blurred vision, etc.
- You are below 18 years of age or above 65 years old.
- You had or are scheduled to have an intestinal surgery.
- You have suffered muscle damage caused by steroid treatment.
- You have heart problems like high blood pressure or heart failure.
- You have any type of infection (like bacterial, viral or fungal) that has not been treated.
- You recently had chickenpox, shingles, measles, etc or have been in contact with a person who has it.

Interactions with other medicines
- Floricot 100 mcg tablet may interact with other medicines. Discuss with your doctor about all the medicines, supplements or herbal preparations you are taking. Also, inform your doctor if you have a planned surgery or vaccination scheduled....
- Concomitant use of Floricot 100 mcg tablet along with Ketoconazole (used to treat fungal infections) may cause increased side effects.
- Use of NSAIDs or pain killers like aspirin, ibuprofen, etc or blood thinners like warfarin can increase the risk of bleeding and ulcers.
- This tablet should be used cautiously along with blood pressure lowering medicines, anti-TB medicines, antidiabetic medicines.
- Concomitant use along with muscle relaxants like atracurium, Nimbex, etc may alter the effects of this tablet.
- Certain oral contraceptives and hormone replacement therapy (medicines containing oestrogen) should be used cautiously along with Floricot 100 mcg tablet.
- Other medicines like Amphotericin B injection, furosemide, Albuterol, Digitalis glycosides, phenytoin, primidone, rifabutin, rifampicin should be used with caution along with Floricot 100 mcg tablet.
- Consult your doctor if you are scheduled to have any vaccination while on treatment or immediately after discontinuing Floricot 100 mcg tablet.
