Breast Feeding
Q:
Is it safe to take the Fertova tablet while breastfeeding?

Mode of Action of Fertova 25 MG
How Does It Work?
The active molecule in the medicine, Clomiphene citrate, causes a series of hormonal changes in the body. The secretion of certain chemicals from the pituitary gland increases as a response to the medicine. This causes the ovary to produce reproductive hormones and the follicles to mature. After ovulation, levels of hormones progesterone and estradiol rise and fall as they would in a normal ovulatory cycle....

- Before consuming the tablet, do not chew or crush it
- In a single day, no more than two tablets should be taken
- The medicine regimen should be followed as per the doctor's instructions

Dosage of Fertova 25 MG
Overdose
Overdosage with Fertova has not been linked to any harmful effects. Vomiting, vasomotor flushes, visual blurring, spots or flashes, blind spots, and ovarian enlargement with pelvic or abdominal pain are some of the indications of overdosing. It is recommended that you see your physician immediately....
Missed a Dose
If you miss a dose, visit your doctor as soon as possible since your treatment cycle may need to be altered. To compensate for a missing tablet, do not take a double dose.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Q: Will the medicine cause any long-term effects on my body?
A: Any particular long-term side effects are not known. However, if you experience any increased discomfort, changes in the body or do not feel very well for many days, you must talk to your doctor who can decide the further course of action.
Q: How will I know whether or not the treatment is effective?
A: Normally, after starting with low doses, if ovulation occurs right after the first course of 5-day treatment, it is considered as a sign that the medication may give desired results.
Q: For how long do I have to continue taking Fertova?
A: If you do not ovulate after the first course of therapy, a second course with increased dosage (as determined by the doctor) is given. If ovulation does not occur after treating with three courses, further therapy with Fertova is not recommended and the patient needs to be evaluated for other underlying issues that may be causing infertility. Long-term therapy beyond six cycles is not recommmended.
Q: Will I get periods while I am on Fertova therapy?
A: If, after treating with Fertova, menstruation does not occur even after ovulatory response, it becomes important to reevaluate whether infertility is being caused by ovary dysfunction or any other problems. However, if you experience increased pain, heavy periods or bleeding between periods after treatment, you must inform your doctor immediately.
