Description

Farocin Tablet is an antibiotic medicine used to treat various bacterial infections, including those of the respiratory tract, urinary tract, and skin. It contains faropenem as its active ingredient.

This medication works by inhibiting the synthesis of the bacterial cell wall, which serves as a protective outer layer. The absence of a cell wall leads to the death of bacterial cells. Take Farocin Tablet as prescribed by your doctor and complete the entire course, as stopping the treatment prematurely will result in treatment failure and recurrence of the infection. Before starting treatment with this medicine, inform your doctor about your complete medical history and any medications you are taking.

Uses of Farocin 200 MG

Farocin Tablet is used for the treatment of various bacterial infections like upper and lower respiratory infections.
It is also used to treat urinary tract infection and skin infections.

Contraindications of Farocin 200 MG

If you are allergic to faropenem or any of the ingredients of Farocin Tablet.
If you are allergic to other antibiotics (beta-lactam) like Penicillin derivatives, Cephalosporins, Monobactams, Carbapenems.

Pregnancy

Can I take Farocin Tablet during pregnancy?

There is limited information on the use of Farocin Tablet in pregnancy. Hence, it is recommended not to use the same unless prescribed by your doctor.

Breast Feeding

Can I take Farocin Tablet while breastfeeding?

Faropenem passes into the breastmilk. So, if you are breastfeeding, your doctor will decide whether Farocin Tablet has to be used or not.

Driving

Can I drive if I have consumed Farocin Tablet?

Farocin Tablet does not affect your ability to drive or to use machinery but, if you experience side effects like dizziness, then you should avoid driving or using machines.

Alcohol

Can I consume alcohol with Farocin Tablet?

There is no known interaction with alcohol along with Farocin Tablet, but it is important to consult your physician if you have a habit of regular drinking.

Other General Warnings

Talk to your doctor if

You have a history of allergy to any antibiotics like Penicillin, Cephem, or Carbapenem.
You have an inherent tendency for allergic reactions (also known as atopy), or you have kidney problems.
You are not able to take diet orally, or you develop a sign of malnutrition or any sign of vitamin K deficiency (easy bleeding), the doctor might need you to monitor closely.
You experience a persistent diarrhoea, the doctor may discontinue the treatment.

Dosage of Farocin 200 MG

Overdose

If you think you have taken too much of Farocin Tablet and you experience any adverse effects, then contact your doctor immediately or visit the nearest hospital.

Missed a Dose

If you missed any dose of Farocin Tablet, then take it as soon as you remember.
If it's time for your next dose, then skip the missed dose and continue with your regular dose schedule.
Do not take a double dose of medicine to compensate for the missed one.
