Medical Description

Etoshine 90 tablet is used for the treatment of pain, swelling & inflammatory conditions due to arthritis. It contains etoricoxib as an active ingredient that belongs to the class of medicines called non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) and helps in relieving pain, swelling and inflammation. This medicine works by reducing the formation of prostaglandins, a chemical responsible for pain and inflammation in the body. It is also used for the short term treatment of pain associated with other conditions. Etoshine 90 tablet should be taken as directed by the doctor and in doses and duration as prescribed. You can take this with or without food. But it will be better if you take it with meals to avoid stomach upset.

Uses

Etoshine 90 tablet is used to treat pain and inflammation in various conditions like osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, gouty arthritis.
It is used to provide relief from acute muscle pain.

Contraindications

If you are allergic to Etoricoxib or any other ingredient of Etoshine 90 tablet.
If you have allergies to other pain killers like breathing difficulty, runny nose, itching, facial swelling.
If you have an active ulcer or bleeding in the stomach or intestine.
If you have a liver or kidney disease.
If your age is below 16 years.
If you are pregnant or are breastfeeding.
If you suffer from heart diseases, peripheral arterial disease (a circulatory problem in which narrowed arteries reduce blood flow to your limbs) or cerebrovascular disease like stroke.

Breast Feeding

It is unknown if Etoricoxib passes into human milk. However, this medicine should not be taken while breastfeeding.

Driving

Etoshine 90 tablet can cause dizziness, spinning sensation (vertigo) or sleepiness, if you experience any of these effects, it is advised not to drive or operate machines.

Alcohol

No information is available on interactions of this medicine when taken with alcohol. However, drinking alcohol while taking this medicine can worsen the side effects like dizziness.

Take this medicine as advised by your doctor.

Missed a Dose

If you missed any dose, take it as soon as you remember. If it is time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and continue your regular dosing schedule. Do not take a double dose of medicine to compensate for a missed one.

Interactions with other drugs

Effect

Etoshine 90 Tablet may increase methotrexate levels in some patients, which can raise the risk of serious side effects such as mouth ulcers, infections, liver problems, or low blood cell counts.

Advice

Regular blood tests may be needed to monitor for methotrexate toxicity. Inform your doctor immediately if you develop fever, sore throat, unusual bruising, or mouth sores.

Effect

Etoshine 90 Tablet may increase lithium levels in the blood, which can lead to lithium toxicity. Symptoms may include tremors, confusion, drowsiness, muscle weakness, or irregular heartbeat.

Advice

Blood lithium levels may need close monitoring. Contact your doctor immediately if symptoms of lithium toxicity appear.

Effect

Etoshine 90 Tablet (etoricoxib) may increase the blood-thinning effect of Warfarin, which can raise the risk of bleeding, bruising, nosebleeds, bleeding gums, or serious internal bleeding.
