Depicor 5mg Capsules
Description
Depicor Capsule contains nifedipine as its active ingredient and is commonly prescribed to manage high blood pressure (hypertension) in adults. By keeping blood pressure under control, it helps reduc
e the risk of serious complications such as heart attack, stroke, and kidney problems. Along with taking Depicor Capsule, following a healthy diet, limiting salt intake, maintaining a healthy weight, and exercising regularly can further support blood pressure control. Nifedipine belongs to a group of medicines called calcium channel blockers. It works by relaxing and widening the blood vessels, which allows blood to flow more easily. This reduces the pressure on the heart and lowers raised blood pressure levels. As a result, the heart does not have to work as hard to pump blood throughout the body. Depicor Capsule should be taken exactly as prescribed by your doctor, in the recommended dose and for the advised duration. It can be taken with or without food, preferably at the same time each day, to help you remember it. Do not crush or chew the medicine unless advised. Do not stop taking Depicor Capsule suddenly without consulting your doctor, as abrupt withdrawal may lead to worsening of blood pressure or other heart-related problems. Some people may experience side effects while taking Depicor Capsule, such as headache, dizziness, flushing, swelling of the ankles or feet, or a feeling of warmth. These effects are usually mild and may settle as your body adjusts to the medicine. However, if you notice severe dizziness, very low blood pressure, or persistent swelling, inform your doctor promptly. Always consult your doctor if you are concerned about any side effects while using this medicine.
