Description

Clonar is a prescription medication. It is primarily used to treat anxiety, panic disorders, and seizure disorders (epilepsy). The active ingredient of Clonar is Clonazepam. Seizures occur due to ab

normal, uncontrolled electrical activity in the brain and can have many symptoms. These include abnormal movements, loss of consciousness, uprolling of eyes, loss of control of urination and defecation etc. Seizure disorders may require long term treatment with anticonvulsants. Anxiety is a condition characterised by increased worry and fear about routine situations. Anxiety can present with increased heart rate, sweating, restlessness, trembling, increased rate of breathing etc. Panic disorder is also an anxiety disorder with loss of control and fear. It is important to note that Clonar has habit-forming potential and maybe misused. Careful monitoring while on this medication is required and necessary. Clonar should be taken as recommended by the doctor. It should not be abruptly started or stopped, as it may cause withdrawal effects. Taking the tablet at the same time every day is advisable for maximum efficacy.

If you have liver dysfunction.
If you have acute narrow-angle glaucoma.
If you have lung disorders such as respiratory insufficiency.
If you have congenital blood disorders known as porphyrias.
If you’ve a history of depression or suicidal ideation.
If you have a history of substance use and dependence.

Pregnancy

Can I take Clonar during pregnancy?

Breast Feeding

Can I take Clonar while breastfeeding?

Clonazepam is considered unsafe during breastfeeding as it is excreted into breast milk. It can cause drowsiness in the breastfed infant.

Driving

Can I drive if I have taken Clonar?

This medication can cause side effects such as drowsiness, sleepiness, fatigue, decreased coordination, dizziness etc. Hence driving, heavy machinery, and tasks requiring focus are not recommended.

Alcohol

Can I consume alcohol with the Clonar?

Using clonazepam with other CNS depressants, like alcohol, increases the risk of respiratory depression, low blood pressure, and death. It is strictly contraindicated.

Directions for Use of Clonar 0.5 MG

Clonar tablet should be taken in the dose and duration as prescribed by the treating physician.
For best results, the tablet is to be taken at the same time every day.
Swallow the tablet as a whole. Don’t crush, chew or break this tablet.
It’s recommended to finish the full course of this medication as prescribed by your treating doctor.
Do not abruptly stop the tablet as it can cause withdrawal side effects. Consult your doctor in case of any side effects after taking the tablet.

Interactions with other medicines

The use of this medication with opioids (like morphine, tramadol etc.) is contraindicated, as it may cause respiratory depression, coma and death.
