Medical Description

Atorva Asp 75 Capsule is a combination medication. It is used to prevent heart attacks and strokes. It is also used to treat high cholesterol levels (dyslipidemia) in the body. It contains the cholesterol-lowering medication atorvastatin as well as a low dose of aspirin, which acts as a blood thinner. This works by lowering the formation of cholesterol and inhibiting the formation of blood clots. As a result, this medication helps to prevent heart attacks and strokes.

Cholesterol is a lipid found in the blood. Imbalanced or elevated cholesterol frequently results in the formation of plaques inside arteries, narrowing them. This restricts blood flow and can result in the formation of blood clots and associated conditions such as heart attack and stroke.

While taking this medication, you can improve your health by quitting smoking, limiting alcohol consumption, getting regular exercise and eating a healthy balanced diet. You should also avoid high-fat, fried or junk food. Some other capsules containing the same active molecules are Aztor Asp 75mg, Ecosprin AV 75 capsule and Lipikind As 10/75mg.

Atorva Asp 75 Capsule should be taken for the duration prescribed by your doctor. Do not discontinue this medication on your own. For best results, take Atorva Asp 75 Capsule at the same time every day. Inform your doctor about your entire medical history before beginning treatment.

If you have any allergic reaction to this medicine or any of the ingredient of this medicine
If you have bleeding disorders
If you have a history of ulcer in the stomach or small intestine
If you have gout
If you have kidney or liver problems
If you are pregnant (last three months) or breastfeeding
If you are taking medicines for cancer or rheumatoid arthritis (like methotrexate - more than 15mg per week)
If you are being treated with medicines for hepatitis C like Glecaprevir/ Pibrentasvir

This medicine passes into breast milk. You should not take this medicine if you are breastfeeding unless advised by your doctor. Inform your doctor if you are breastfeeding as this medicine may harm your baby.

Driving

Can I drive if I have consumed Atorva Asp 75mg Cap?

It does not affect your driving abilities.

Alcohol

Can I consume alcohol with Atorva Asp 75mg Cap?

It would be best if you do not take alcohol while taking this medicine. Drinking alcohol may increase the risk of bleeding in the stomach and intestines. If you have any liver disease or history of liver disease, there are increased chances of further liver damage with alcohol.

If you experience muscle pain, cramps, weakness and fever after taking Atorva Asp 75mg, immediately inform your doctor.
You experience any muscle problems after taking other lipid-lowering medicine.

You have breathing difficulty.
You notice any unusual bleeding.
You consume alcohol regularly and are addicted to it.
You are suffering from any thyroid problems or gout.
You are undergoing surgery or have had an operation recently.
You notice black, tarry stools or blood in vomit.
You have asthma. This medicine can worsen your asthma.
You have ulcers in your stomach or small intestine.
If you experience heavy menstrual bleeding, do not take Atorva Asp 75mg as it can increase the bleeding.

The dosage of Atorva Asp 75mg Cap should be taken as per the physician's guidelines. Do not crush or chew the tablet. Swallow it as a whole.

This medicine contains Atorvastatin and Aspirin. Any interactions that are seen with these two components when taken alone may occur with this combination
Never take this medicine with hepatitis medicines like Glecaprevir/ Pibrentasvir
