Amitone Plus Tablets Description
Amitone Plus is used to treat moderate to severe depression and anxiety. Depression is a mental illness that causes a feeling of sadness, hopelessness and leads to the loss of interest, which can dis
rupt day to day life. Anxiety refers to persistent fear, worry and restlessness in routine life. Amitone Plus combines two salts, namely, Amitriptyline(12.5 mg) and Chlordiazepoxide (5mg). Amitriptyline is a type of Tricyclic Antidepressant, whereas Chlordiazepoxide is a type of Benzodiazepine. Both the active ingredients act together to control depression and anxiety. It is recommended by a doctor and has to be taken as a regular medication.

Mode of Action of Amitone Plus Tablets
How Does It Work?
Amitone plus has two active ingredients, namely Amitriptyline(12.5 mg) and Chlordiazepoxide (5mg). Amitriptyline works by controlling the balance of certain chemicals in the brain. However, Chlordiazepoxide works on the brain and nerves to exhibit a calming effect.

Directions for Use of Amitone Plus Tablets
- Amitone Plus should be taken according to the recommendation of a doctor. It is usually taken as a long term medicine regularly.
- It can be taken with or without food. However, try to take it preferably with food to avoid any stomach problems. Try to maintain a schedule and have the medicine at the same time every day.
- Do not stop taking the dose without consulting your doctor.
- The tablet has to be swallowed whole orally with a glass of water. The tablet should not be chewed, crushed or broken.
- In case of a missed dose, take the tablet as soon as you remember the skipped dose. But if it is almost time for another one, consider sticking to the schedule.

Storage and disposal of Amitone Plus Tablets

Dosage of Amitone Plus Tablets
Overdose
Do not take medicine more than the advised dosage. Overdose can exhibit severe side effects.
Seek immediate help in case of overdose.
Do not give the medicine to someone you feel has the same symptoms. This can lead to overdose.

Missed a Dose
If you miss a dose, try to take the tablet as soon as you remember. If it is almost the time of the next dose, do not take the double dose. Try to stick to the previous schedule.
