Medical Description

Vigamox Ophthalmic Solution is an antibiotic eye drop used to treat bacterial eye infections. It works by stopping the growth of the bacteria causing the infection. Use it exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Gently squeeze the dropper close to your eye and place the medicine inside the lower eyelid. Avoid skipping doses and complete the full course of treatment, even if you feel better. You may experience temporary discomfort, dryness, or burning after applying the drops. Blurred vision may occur briefly after use, so be cautious when driving or operating machinery. Do not wear contact lenses while using this medication.

For the treatment of external bacterial infection of the eye.

Contraindications

If you are allergic to moxifloxacin or other medicines from the fluoroquinolone group of medicine or any of the other ingredients of Vigamox Eye Drop.

Vigamox is to be used locally as Eye Drop only and there are fewer chances of absorption in the blood. Still, this medicine should be used under medical supervision by a pregnant woman.

  • Close your eyes for 2-3 minutes and do not blink or squeeze.
  • Avoid touching your eyes with the dropper and it must be kept clean.

Dosage

Overdose

  • As Vigamox Eye Drop is meant for external use, cases of overdose are unlikely. However, upon accidental ingestion contact your doctor immediately or visit the nearest hospital.
  • If you have instilled extra drops of it, wash eyes thoroughly with water.

Missed a Dose

If you have missed the instillation of Eye Drop, instill it as soon as possible. Do not instill more drops just to compensate for the missed dose.
