Medical Description

Albudac 20% injection is used to treat excess loss of blood volume or low albumin levels. Replacing body fluids that are lost to excess bleeding, trauma, injury, surgery or during kidney dialysis is the main use of Albudac 20% injection. It also helps in restoring normal levels of albumin in the body. The main component of this infusion is Human albumin 20%. It is a sterile, liquid preparation of albumin derived from large amounts of human plasma (the liquid part of the blood, without red blood cells). The mode of action of Albudac 20% injection is to restore the normal plasma levels of albumin, which can help reduce weakness, low appetite, weight loss, muscle loss, excess protein in the urine, etc. Follow your doctor’s directions for using Albudac 20% injection. It must be given by a doctor or a healthcare professional in the hospital or a clinical setting. It is important to inform your doctor immediately if you notice any allergic reactions. Nausea, vomiting, chills, fever, flushing, etc., are some of the common side effects of Albudac 20% injection. Before taking it, inform the doctor if you have any severe heart disease. The doctor can check the blood pressure and advise you to get blood tests done while using this injection.

Mode of Action

How Does It Work?

Albudac 20% injection or infusion is composed of Human albumin. Albumin is a type of protein made by the liver. It helps keep fluid in the bloodstream, so it does not leak into the adjacent tissues. It also carries different substances throughout the body, such as hormones, vitamins, enzymes, etc. Low albumin levels can indicate a liver or kidney disorder, or there is a recent fluid loss. Human albumin is prepared from large amounts of human plasma. When it is administered, albumin increases the oncotic pressure of the blood or vascular system. It helps in pulling fluids from the space between the tissues, which can decrease oedema and increase the circulating blood volume.

Interactions

Interactions with other medicines

  • Do not mix Albudac 20% injection with protein hydrolysates (breaking down the proteins to peptides of varying sizes with bioactive peptides).
  • It is not recommended to use solutions that contain alcohol along with Albubac 2% injections. When albumin in this injection is mixed with alcohol in the bloodstream, it can cause proteins to precipitate, which changes the pH and damages the protein structure and denature them.
  • Consult your doctor first if you want to mix Albudac 20% injection with other medicinal products that include blood and blood components. Albumin is compatible with whole blood, plasma, saline, glucose, or sodium lactate.

Interactions with food items

  • There is no information available on the interactions of Albudac 20% injection with any type of food.
