Medical Description
AB Phylline capsule is used for breathing difficulty associated with lung-related disorders like asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). It contains acebrophylline as its active ingredient. AB Phylline promotes muscle relaxation around the airway and inhibits mucous secretion, thus clearing the airway and also easing breathing. AB Flo capsule, Acphy capsule, Macphylline capsule, Abevia capsule and Broncofil capsule also contain acebrophylline as their active ingredient.
Take AB Phylline capsule as prescribed by your doctor at the exact dose and duration. You can take the AB Phylline tablet with or without food. This medicine should not be used during an acute asthma attack. Inform your doctor about all your medical and medication history, as well as any supplements, before starting the treatment with AB Phylline.

Avoid Triggers: Identify and steer clear of triggers that can worsen symptoms, including allergens, smoke, air pollution, strong odours, and respiratory infections. Minimising exposure to these triggers through preventive measures can reduce symptoms and enhance lung function.
Quit Smoking: If you smoke, quitting is crucial. Smoking is a major risk factor for COPD and exacerbates asthma symptoms. Seek support from healthcare providers, who can provide smoking cessation strategies and connect you with support groups for a successful quit-smoking journey.
Maintain Good Indoor Air Quality: Ensure cleanliness and proper ventilation in your home. Regularly clean, dust, and vacuum to minimise exposure to dust mites and allergens. Use air purifiers or filters to improve indoor air quality, and avoid using strong cleaning products or aerosol sprays that may irritate the airways.

- If you have any heart disease such as low blood pressure, unstable blood pressure and abnormal heart rate.

- You have an alcohol addiction, careful monitoring is required in such patients.
Directions for Use
- Take AB Phylline tablet as a whole with a sufficient amount of water, with or without food.
- You should take this medicine regularly as directed by your doctor.
- You should not consume it more than the prescribed quantity.
Storage and disposal
- Store it below 25°C temprature in a clean & dry place, guarded against moisture, direct sunlight and heat.
- Keep AB Phylline capsule away from children and pets.
- You should not use this medicine once the expiry date has passed. The expiry date is the last day of that month.
- You should not flush this medicine in the toilet or pour them into the drain. You should properly discard this medicine when it is expired or no longer in use.

- AB Phylline capsule is used to treat the signs and symptoms of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and bronchial asthma in adults.
- Take this medicine in the exact dose and duration as recommended by your doctor. Do not take more than the prescribed dose.
- Do not stop taking this medicine on your own even if you feel better, unless your doctor tells you to. Also, do not take any other medicine without confirming with your doctor during treatment with AB Phylline capsule.
- Before starting this medicine, inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning on becoming pregnant or breastfeeding. Also, inform your doctor about all other medicines that you take and your complete medical history.
- Heartburn, rashes, diarrhoea, loss of appetite and nausea/vomiting may occur in some individuals with the use of AB Phylline capsule. Inform your doctor if these effects bother you or do not go away.
- If you experience dizziness or sleepiness after taking this capsule, it is recommended to avoid driving, operating heavy machinery or performing any such tasks that require mental alertness.
- Tell your doctor if you have a history or have an alcohol addiction.

Interactions with other medicines
- Some medicines can affect the way the AB Phylline capsule works or this medicine itself can reduce the effectiveness of other medicines taken at the same time.
- Tell your doctor about all the medicines, supplements or herbals you are currently taking or might take to avoid any possible interaction.
- Especially, if you are taking medicines to treat high blood pressure, heart failure, high/abnormal cholesterol levels, blood thinners, anti-infectives, anti-diabetics, anti-asthmatics, pain killers, immunomodulatory medicines or medicines for the brain-related disorder.
- This medicine, when used with medicines like albuterol, metaproterenol, pirbuterol, terbutaline, steroids and water pills, can decrease the potassium levels in the blood. You may require serum potassium monitoring.
