How Does It Work?
Moxonidine works by relaxing the blood vessels and widens up the walls of blood vessels; this will reduce the blood pressure and allows blood and oxygen to circulate all over the body smoothly.

- Analgesics
- Sleeping pills
- Steroids
- Medicines for depression (Imipramine, Amitriptylline)
- Medicines used to treat anxiety such as Benzodiazepines (e.g. Diazepam, Lorazepam)
- Diuretics like Furosemide
Interactions with food items
Take it with a glass of water. You can have this medicine before or after food intake as prescribed by your physician.
Dietary Restrictions of Moxonidine
- You should avoid excess salt and sugar in diet, such as:
- Processed meat
- Frozen pizza
- Canned food
- Canned soup
- Your diet should be rich in fibre, antioxidants, fresh fruits and vegetables
- Also, beet and pomegranate juice have been shown to reduce blood pressure
Dosage of Moxonidine
Overdose
You may experience symptoms like headache, drowsiness, low blood pressure, dizziness, fatigue, slow heartbeat, dry mouth, vomiting and upper abdominal pain. You should consult with a doctor as quickly as possible....
Missed a Dose
If you skip the dose, try to take the next dose on time. Don’t double the dose to compensate for the skipped dose.
