Molecule Description
Levosulpiride+Rabeprazole is a combination medicine. It is an anti-reflux medicine used for the treatment of gastrointestinal reflux disease (GERD). It is a condition in which acid from the stomach comes up to the food pipe, causing heartburn, acidity, etc. Levosulpiride+Rabeprazole is available in the form of a tablet, capsule. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy or breastfeeding and about all the medicines and supplements you take and all the conditions or diseases you suffer from, before starting this medicine.

Levosulpiride+Rabeprazole is used to treat gastrointestinal reflux disease (GERD).
Contraindications
When should one not use Levosulpiride+Rabeprazole
- If you are allergic to levosulpiride, rabeprazole or similar medicines.
- If you are pregnant or breastfeeding
- If you have a history of fits or Parkinson's disease.

- You develop any allergic reactions or other skin reactions
- You have fever, muscle rigidity, irregular heartbeats, movement problems
- You have a history of allergic reaction due to similar medicine
- You develop infection after taking this medicine
- Taking levosulpiride+rabeprazole for more than one year may increase chances of developing bone fractures
Mode of Action
How Does It Work?
- Rabeprazole works by blocking the secretion of acid in the stomach by acting on a pump called the proton pump in the stomach, responsible for the secretion of stomach acids.
- Levosulpiride works by increasing the motility of the stomach and intestine so that acid does not reflux back into the food pipe.

Interactions with other medicines
- Some medicines can affect the way levosulpiride+rabeprazole works or this medicine itself can reduce the effectiveness of other medicines taken at the same time.
- Tell your doctor about all the medicines, supplements, or herbals you are currently taking or might take to avoid any possible interaction.
- Especially if you are taking medications that neutralise acidity in the stomach (containing aluminium and magnesium hydroxide), muscle relaxants, painkillers, antacids, anti-fungal medicines, anti-HIV medicines, or medicines for brain and heart-related disorders, medicines used to treat an ulcer.
