Type 2 diabetes mellitus is a condition in which your pancreas does not make enough insulin to control blood sugar levels and your body is also unable to efficiently use its insulin. This causes high blood sugar levels in your body, which can cause medical problems like heart disease, kidney disease, blindness and poor blood flow in your hands and legs.
Glimestar M2 tablet lowers the raised blood sugar levels. You should take this medicine in the exact dose and duration as your doctor advises. Do not stop taking this medicine on your own. You must exercise regularly and maintain a balanced diet while taking this medicine to achieve adequate control of your blood sugar levels.

How Glimestar works
- Glimestar M2 tablet contains a combination of glimepiride and metformin as active substances.
- Glimepiride lowers the blood sugar level by increasing the release of insulin hormone from the pancreas. Insulin moves sugar (glucose) from the blood into the cells.
- Metformin decreases the absorption of sugar in the intestine and the production of sugar by the liver.
- Both of these components are known to increase the insulin sensitivity of the body (allows the cells of the body to use blood sugar more effectively, thereby reducing blood sugar).
