• Trulicity 1.5mg Prefilled Pen is used to manage type 2 diabetes mellitus, along with diet and lifestyle modifications.
• To reduce the risk of heart attack, stroke, or death in type 2 diabetic patients with heart conditions.

Other General Warnings

• You are on dialysis, have heart failure, liver problems, or kidney failure or disease.
• You have a thyroid disorder, thyroid enlargement (Goitre).
• You have a stomach or gut disorder due to which the contents of your stomach take too long to pass through the intestine (Gastroparesis).
• You have inflammatory bowel disorder, inflammation of the pancreas (Pancreatitis).
• This medicine should not be used if you have type 1 diabetes (your body does not produce any insulin) or diabetic ketoacidosis (a complication of diabetes).
• You are experiencing dehydration (loss of fluid through vomiting or diarrhoea). It is important to prevent dehydration by drinking sufficient water.

• Take this injection as per the technique suggested by your doctor or nurse.
• Your doctor will show you the technique before you use it for the first time.
• Always rotate the site of injection, do not take concurrent injections at the same site.
• Do not share your injection with other people or use it for injecting other medicines.

• Unused and new Trulicity 1.5mg Pre-Filled Pen should be stored in the refrigerator at 2°C to 8°C and should not be frozen.
• Trulicity pen After the first use, store for up to 14 days at 15°C to 30°C or in a refrigerator at 2°C to 8°C.
• Keep it out of the reach of children or pets.
• Do not throw this injection in household waste or in waste-water.

• Use Trulicity 1.5 mg Prefilled Pen once weekly on the same day each week, at any time of day, with or without food, to maintain consistent blood glucose control. Administer the injection subcutaneously into the abdomen, thigh, or upper arm, and rotate injection sites each week to reduce the risk of skin irritation.
• Do not mix Trulicity with insulin in the same injection; never inject it into a vein or muscle.
• Always follow the injection technique demonstrated by your healthcare provider.
• Common side effects, such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, or reduced appetite, are more likely in the first few weeks and usually improve as the body adjusts to the medication.
• Store the prefilled pen in a refrigerator (2°C–8°C). If needed, it can be stored at room temperature (below 30°C) for up to 14 days; do not freeze or expose it to direct heat.
• Trulicity is most effective when used alongside a healthy diet, regular physical activity, and routine blood sugar monitoring, as advised by your physician.
• Individuals with high blood sugar or diabetes are at risk of getting various health complications, such as eye, kidney, and nerve problems, heart diseases, and stroke. Therefore, it is advisable to take your diabetes medications regularly, make lifestyle changes, exercise regularly, and maintain a healthy weight to control your blood sugar better. You should also regularly check your blood sugar levels.

Interactions with other medicines

• Frequent monitoring of blood clotting parameters is suggested in individuals taking blood thinners such as warfarin concomitantly with Trulicity 1.5mg Pre-Filled Pen.
• Blood pressure-lowering medicines such as insulin and sulphonylureas (glimepiride or glibenclamide) may lead to a significant reduction in blood glucose and hence patient should be warned of the signs and symptoms of low blood glucose ( cold sweat, headache, fast heartbeat, feeling sick, tremors)
• Any other medicine, supplement or herbals, if you are taking or might take, should be informed to your doctor to avoid any possible interaction.
