Pregnancy
Q:
Can I take Zyven OD 50 mg during pregnancy?
A:
Zyven OD 50 mg is usually avoided during pregnancy as it is unsafe. Use of this medicine in the 3rd trimester may result in neonatal discontinuation syndrome, which may affect the baby and need prolonged hospitalisation, respiratory support, and tube feeding.
Breast Feeding
Q:
Can I take Zyven OD 50 mg while breastfeeding?
A:
Zyven Od is excreted in breastmilk. This may affect the newborn infant. Therefore the decision to continue or discontinue breastfeeding during therapy should be based on the risk of infant exposure, the benefits of breastfeeding to the infant and benefits of treatment to the mother. When first initiating an antidepressant in a breastfeeding female, tablets other than desvenlafaxine are preferred.
Driving
Q:
Can I drive if I have Zyven OD 50 mg?
A:
It is usually advised to avoid driving after consumption of Zyven OD. This tablet induces dizziness, reduces the sense of alertness, and impairs the ability to make decisions.
Alcohol
Q:
Can I consume alcohol with Zyven OD 50 mg?
A:
Alcohol consumption must be avoided with Zyven OD. This is because alcohol potentiates the side effects of dizziness, drowsiness, and difficulty in concentration. At the same time, it also impairs the decision-making ability of the patient consuming the medicine.
