• If you are allergic to ciprofloxacin or any other ingredients of Zoxan 500 tablet.
• If you are taking other quinolone medicines like moxifloxacin, norfloxacin, ofloxacin or nalidixic acid.
• If you are taking tizanidine (a medicine used to treat muscle spasm).

• Nausea
• Diarrhoea
• Vomiting

Other General Warnings

• You have any pre-existing medical condition such as liver or kidney related disorder, as Zoxan 500 tablet will then require dose adjustment.
• The medicine is known to cause tendon rupture, nerve damage/pain (peripheral neuropathy). Be cautious and tell the doctor if you already have any of this condition before initiating the treatment.
• You have a history of fits, psychiatric illness or any kind of heart-related disorder, etc.
• You have diabetes as your blood glucose can drop when you are on this medicine.
• You have a condition of muscle weakness. This medicine can worsen it.
• You have an inherited disorder that affects red blood cells.
• You experience any sudden severe allergic reaction, stomach pain or chest pain, stop taking this medicine and contact your doctor immediately.

• Zoxan 500 tablet should be stored at room temperature, away from direct sunlight or heat. Keep it out of the reach of children and pets.
• Do not take this medicine after the expiry date, which is mentioned on the pack.

How Does It Work?

Interactions with other medicines

• Sometimes Zoxan 500 tablet may affect the way other medicines work or vice versa if taken at the same time. Tell your doctor about all the medicines, supplements or herbals you are currently taking or might take to avoid any possible interactions.
• Especially, if you are on certain medications like brain-related disorders, antigout medicines such as probenecid, anti-emetic like metoclopramide, medicines for breathing-related disorders, anticoagulants like warfarin, medicines for erectile dysfunction, etc.
• Other medicines that should be used with caution are immunosuppressants like ciclosporin, anaesthesia like lidocaine, etc.
• Concomitant use of Zoxan 500 tablet and medicines used for heart disorders, psychotic disorders and certain antibiotics should be used cautiously as it can lead to undesirable effects.
• Medicines or certain supplements containing iron, calcium, etc. antacids or sucralfate should not be taken within two hours of taking this medicine as they reduce the effect of this medicine.
