Medical Description
Zoonovac V powder for vaccine is a rabies vaccine for human use that is used to protect against rabies. Rabies is a viral disease that spreads through bites, scratches, and the saliva of animals infected with the rabies virus. Zoonovac V powder for vaccine contains very small amounts of a modified form of the rabies virus as the active substance. This vaccine uses the body's natural defence system to provide protection against rabies. It can be used on both adults and children. Your doctor will recommend the best time for you or your child to receive the vaccination.
The most common side effects of the vaccine include pain, joint pain, redness at the injection site, and swelling at the injection site. If any side effects persist or cause concern, consult your doctor. Before receiving the injection, inform your doctor if you have ever had an allergic reaction to a vaccine. Please inform your doctor about all the medications you are currently taking, as some may interact with the rabies vaccine.

Quick Tips
- Always get the vaccine administered by a healthcare professional (doctor or nurse). It's administered subcutaneously (under the skin) or intramuscularly (into the muscle), depending on the specific vaccine and protocol.
- Rabies vaccines are temperature-sensitive. Store them strictly as directed (usually refrigerated between 2°C to 8°C). Do NOT freeze. Freezing can damage the vaccine.
- Never attempt to administer the vaccine yourself unless you are explicitly trained and instructed by a healthcare provider to follow a specific protocol.
- If bitten or exposed to a potentially rabid animal, immediately wash the wound thoroughly with soap and water for at least 15 minutes. Then, seek medical attention without delay. Depending on the exposure, you might need both the vaccine and Rabies Immune Globulin (antibodies).
- Inform your doctor about any severe or persistent side effects after vaccination.
- If travelling to high-risk areas or working with animals, discuss pre-exposure prophylaxis with your doctor.
- Avoid consuming alcohol during the vaccination course as it can interfere with the immune response.

Interactions
Interactions with other medicines
- Tell your doctor about all medicines, supplements, or herbs you are currently taking or might take to avoid any possible interaction.
- The ability of the body to produce antibodies (proteins that protect the individual against infection caused by viruses) may be decreased if you or your child are using medicines that suppress the immune system (corticosteroids) or have a weak immune system.
- Particular care should be taken when using rabies immunoglobulin in conjunction with Zoonovac V powder for vaccine, as rabies immunoglobulin can interfere with the development of an immune response to the vaccine.
- If Zoonovac V powder for vaccine is administered simultaneously with other vaccines, vaccination should be performed at different injection sites on different limbs.
