Medical Description
Zenflox-UTI tablet is a combination medicine used in the treatment of certain bacterial infections associated with urinary tract (UTI) and muscle spasms of the urinary tract. It contains two active ingredients- ofloxacin and flavoxate that belong to the different classes of medicines called antibiotic and anti-spasmodic respectively.
Zenflox-UTI tablet works by inhibiting the growth of bacteria responsible for infection and relaxing the bladder muscles. It is advised to complete the full course of treatment and not modify the dose or stop it before the prescribed duration, even if you feel better.
You should never miss your dose of antibiotics as it may lead to treatment failure. Before using Zenflox UTI, inform the doctor if you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy or breastfeeding and about your detailed medical history including all the medicines you are currently taking.

- If you are allergic to ofloxacin and flavoxate or any other ingredient of the Zenflox-UTI tablet.
- If you have any pre-existing medical condition like muscle weakness, high pressure inside the eyes, stomach or intestinal bleeding, difficulty in passing urine, fits, swelling of tendons, etc.
- If you feel difficulty in swallowing.
- If you are pregnant or are breastfeeding.
- If you are below 16 years of age.

- You have any underlying medical condition like kidney or liver-related problems, any kind of heart and brain-related disorders, muscle weakness, nerve-related diseases, etc.
- You have had heart surgery in past.

- You feel sudden pain in the stomach or chest or experience pain in your fingers and toes during the treatment.
- You should cover your skin properly and apply sunscreen while going out in the sun.
- You may rarely experience pain, swelling or weakness of joints, tingling or numbness feeling in hands and feet.
Directions for Use
- Take this medicine for the prescribed duration as instructed by your doctor.
- Swallow the medicine as a whole with a sufficient glass of water, preferably with food to avoid nausea.
- Do not change your dose unless your doctor tells you to.
- Never stop the medicine on your own.

- Zenflox UTI tablet is used to treat urinary tract infection (UTI) and swelling or inflammation of the bladder. Also, it relieves urinary tract muscle spasms. This helps in relieving symptoms such as frequent and painful urination or the urge to urinate.
- Take this tablet exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Do not take more or less than the recommended dose.
- The use of Zenflox-UTI tablet is not recommended if you are pregnant, planning on becoming pregnant, or breastfeeding. Your baby could be harmed by this medication.
- If you become pregnant while taking this medication, stop taking it immediately and consult your doctor.
- Also, inform your doctor about all other medicines that you take and your complete medical history.
- Drink plenty of water while taking Zenflox-UTI to help flush bacteria out of your urinary tract and reduce the risk of side effects.
- If you experience dizziness or sleepiness after taking this tablet, it is recommended to avoid driving, operating heavy machinery, or performing any such tasks that require mental alertness.

Missed a Dose
- It would be best if you took the doses at the appropriate time for the desired effect.
- If you have missed taking any dose of medicine take it as soon as you remember. However, if it's time for your next dose, then skip the missed dose and continue with your regular dose schedule.
- Do not take a double dose of medicine to compensate for the missed one.

How Does It Work?
- Zenflox-UTI tablet consists of two active components-ofloxacin and flavoxate. The combined action of these two ingredients helps in relieving respective symptoms.
- Ofloxacin is an antibiotic that works by inhibiting the synthesis of bacterial DNA, thereby restricting their growth and eventually killing the bacteria.
- Flavoxate acts as anti-spasmodic medicine that works by relaxing the bladder muscles and helps in controlling frequent, painful or uncontrolled urination, etc.

Interactions with other medicines
- Always inform your doctor about all the medicine you are taking, that includes all prescribed or non-prescribed herbal medicines, dietary supplements as well as other treatments you are taking for any disorder.
- In particular, if you are taking anti-cancer medicines like methotrexate and anticoagulants like warfarin, medicines for heart and brain-related disorders, anti-bacterial medicines, etc.
- Certain medicines can interfere with the action of the Zenflox-UTI tablet, if taken at the same time such as antidiabetic medicines, antacids, anti-gout medicines, anti-hypertensives, etc.
- Sometimes few medicines can increase the chances of side effects if taken along with Zenflox-UTI tablets such as painkillers, other antibiotics like azithromycin, antidepressants like amitriptyline, steroids or medicines for a breathing-related problems like theophylline, etc.
- Zenflox-UTI tablet should not be taken within two hours of taking antacids or medicines containing iron or sucralfate, etc.
