Medical Description

Tricare Ap tab is primarily a pain-relieving medication. Tricare Ap tab is a combination medicine containing three ingredients: Paracetamol, Aceclofenac and Tramadol. These compounds come under the category of Analgesics (Pain killers). Excessive pain may produce other effects- sweating, nausea (vomiting sensation), palpitations (sensing one's own heartbeat), rise or fall in blood pressure, increased rate of breathing etc. Analgesics are those medicines that relieve pain without affecting its cause. Tramadol belongs to a class of medicines known as opioid analgesics. It is well tolerated. Paracetamol( Acetaminophen) and Aceclofenac belong to a class of medicines known as Non-Steroidal Anti Inflammatory Drugs (NSAIDs) and Analgesics- Antipyretics (medicines that suppress fever). The combination of these medications belonging to different classes makes this medication superior to individual components in relieving the pain. For severe and prolonged-lasting pain, this medication may be helpful, a combination of NSAID and an opioid. This helps to enhance analgesia while keeping the opioid dose low. Such a combination is usually considered for pain refractory to single medication. Usually, this medication is well tolerated in individuals. Some people may have vomiting, nausea, sweating etc. Use the medicine with caution on advice from your physician.

Mode of Action

How Does It Work?

Tricare Ap tab has three medicines as its components. Paracetamol and Aceclofenac belong to a class of medicines known as Non-Steroidal Anti Inflammatory Drugs(NSAIDS). Paracetamol has central analgesic action by raising the threshold to pain perception. However, it has a weak anti-inflammatory effect. Paracetamol is a good and promptly acting antipyretic (fever suppressing medication). Aceclofenac is an analgesic- antipyretic-anti inflammatory medicine. It works by inhibiting the chemicals responsible for causing pain (inhibits prostaglandin synthesis). Tramadol belongs to a class of medicines known as opioid analgesics. It helps relieve the pain by acting centrally. It causes an increase in the availability of certain chemicals leading to the inhibition of pain.
