• Immune thrombocytopenic purpura (ITP): in adults and eligible children whose ITP has not responded adequately to other treatments such as corticosteroids or immunoglobulins.
• Low platelets in long-term hepatitis C infection: in adults, where the low platelet count is the main factor preventing the start of, or limiting the ability to continue, interferon-based antiviral treatment.
• Severe aplastic anaemia: in adults whose condition has not responded to previous immunosuppressive therapy, or in other approved treatment settings.

• If you are allergic to eltrombopag or to any of the excipients in Thromplat tablet.

• Nausea or diarrhoea
• Headache
• Raised liver enzymes
• Back pain
• Muscle or joint pain
• Rash or itching
• Fatigue
• Abdominal pain or vomiting
• Dizziness
• Hair loss

• Liver problems: yellowing of the skin or eyes, dark urine, unusual tiredness, or upper abdominal pain.
• Blood clots: leg pain or swelling, chest pain, sudden breathlessness, or sudden severe headache.
• Bleeding after stopping treatment: platelet counts can fall after treatment is stopped, increasing the risk of bleeding.
• Bone marrow changes: your doctor may monitor blood counts and, when needed, the bone marrow.

Other General Warnings

• You develop yellowing of the skin or eyes, dark urine, unusual tiredness, or abdominal pain.
• You develop leg swelling or pain, chest pain, or sudden shortness of breath.
• You have unusual bruising or bleeding, particularly after stopping treatment.
• You notice changes in your vision.
• You have liver disease or a history of blood clots.
• You are taking blood thinners, antiplatelet medicines, statins, or other medicines that may interact with eltrombopag.
• Your blood tests show persistent abnormalities; your doctor may perform additional tests if needed.

• Take Thromplat tablet exactly as your doctor prescribed. Your dose is individually decided and adjusted based on your regular platelet counts; do not change it yourself.
• Take it at least 2 hours before or 4 hours after any antacids, dairy products (or other calcium-rich foods), or mineral supplements containing calcium, iron, magnesium, aluminium, selenium, or zinc.
• Attend every scheduled blood test; your platelet counts and liver tests guide each dose decision.
• Do not stop the medicine on your own, even if your counts improve; stopping requires a plan and follow-up blood tests from your doctor.

• This medicine does not require special temperature storage; store it in its original pack.
• Keep out of reach and sight of children and pets.
• Do not use after the expiry date printed on the pack.
• Return unused or expired tablets to your pharmacist for safe disposal; do not flush them or throw them in household waste.

• Take Thromplat tablet at the same time each day, at least 2 hours before or 4 hours after dairy, antacids, or mineral supplements.
• Never miss your scheduled blood tests; your platelet counts and liver tests decide your dose and keep treatment safe.
• Report unusual bruising or bleeding.
• Seek urgent medical attention for leg swelling or pain, chest pain, or sudden breathlessness.
• Report yellowing of the skin or eyes, dark urine, or unusual tiredness.
• Do not stop treatment without your doctor's advice.
• Tell your doctor if you take a statin or blood thinner.
• Tell your doctor about any changes in your vision.

Interactions with other medicines

• Tell your doctor about all medicines, supplements, and herbal products you take.
• Statins: Thromplat tablet can increase the levels of some cholesterol-lowering medicines, such as rosuvastatin. Your doctor may monitor you or adjust the statin dose.
• Antacids, dairy products, and mineral supplements: these can greatly reduce eltrombopag absorption. Keep a gap of at least 2 hours before or 4 hours after taking Thromplat tablet.
• Other medicines: medicines such as ciclosporin, rifampicin, and some medicines used for ITP can affect eltrombopag levels or platelet counts. Your doctor may adjust your treatment or monitor you more closely.
• Always tell your doctor about all prescription and non-prescription medicines, vitamins, supplements, and herbal products.

Interactions with food items

• Dairy products and other calcium-rich foods significantly reduce the absorption of Thromplat tablet. Take your dose at least 2 hours before or 4 hours after such foods.
• Separate mineral-fortified foods and drinks (with added calcium, iron, or magnesium), like dairy, from your dose.
• Stay well hydrated and maintain a balanced diet during treatment.
